Yeah totally. The one chance an officer has to help clean up the community, he goes and blows it.

As long as he can rob stores and go home and cook up a batch of meth with his baby formula then no harm done. We need that shit on the street ruining dozens of teenagers lives.

But yet don't you dare jaywalk with your dog while minding your own business unless you want to be tazed half to death and your dog shot 15 times.

Good job officer. That'll do pig. That'll do.

What judge would grant sole custody to the father for a 6 month old infant?

Probably not many because only the mother can provide essential nutrients from her breast milk.

Not only that but baby formula is expensive. Around $30 per jar and they could go thru 2 jars a week.

Do you know how much profits the store would lose if everyone got away with it?

It is actually not that great for the infant's health but I do understand the mothers could occasionally not be around because she's dead or whatever.

But being poor is no excuse to steal because there's plenty of charities that would be more than willing to help out a single father in need.

Re: Officer Refuses to Arrest Man After Seeing What Item He Was Trying to Shoplift
Police officer Justin Roby received a shoplifting call from a Kroger grocery store in London, Kentucky. After arriving on the scene, Roby found out that the shoplifter was a single father trying to steal a can of baby formula for his 6-month-old baby.

“Me citing him for court wouldn’t have done any good for him,” he said. “He’s already short on money, can’t afford formula, so me making him appear in court, he’s still not going to have any food for that baby.”

But what Roby did next showed the shoplifter what it truly means “to protect and serve” one’s community.

He bought some formula himself, giving it to the man for his baby.

Re: Officer Refuses to Arrest Man After Seeing What Item He Was Trying to Shoplift
Maybe where I live (southern Utah) does not reflect the way it is elsewhere, but the officer in this story is very reflective of the officers that we have here.

My experience has always been that the vast majority of law LEOs are good officers. This story doesn't surprise me at all.

what else doesn't surprise me is that people who break laws and believe that they are entitled to exemption of consequence are the people preaching about "abuse" and spewing all of the hate for cops.

One could search the entire internet for every negative/abuse of power story relating to LEOs EVER written, tally the total number of "bad" officers reported in all of American history, and that number would equate to FAR LESS than the total number of current, active-duty officers serving in this country at this very moment.

There is an agenda to sell the idea that ALL cops are "bad" and "abusive", and that is exactly why it is common to see "negative" police stories.

Yet, considering the number of current police officers, there would have to be over 100,000 new "abuse" stories every single day for it to be logical to assume that it is true that all cops are "bad".

But then, I would not post a positive story about a cop, as a way to say that only 'some' are good.... when in reality, a majority are very decent people.

Yes, it is majority white people here. Our violent-crime rates are almost non-existent.

So are you saying that it is actually ghetto-dwelling, crime-embracing minorities that cause the problems on the street, and the cops, being human and fallible, do the best they can with a bad situation and it doesn't always turn out well for all involved?

Cause that's what I'm saying.

Yeah right. Infant formula is one of the best WIC food items to trade for cash or drugs in the ghetto.

The Black Market for Stolen Baby Formula Is Booming
Organized crime rings are making millions peddling the most innocuous white powder there is, and the street value is surging

Nguyen’s simple scheme is emblematic of a multibillion-dollar market for stolen baby formula that’s been growing for years. Ubiquitous and with a surging street value, infant nutritional supplements remain one of the most shoplifted items in the U.S., fostering a steady stream of organized crime syndicates that confound law enforcement agencies and retailers across the country.

Baby formula is staple of theft rings

Theft of baby formula to be resold or used to cut illicit drugs is a burgeoning national problem, politicians and retail officials say.

Rhett Asher, vice president of industry relations for the Food Marketing Institute, says the thefts are part of a growing problem with organized retail crime.

Couple netted $90,000 in just 6 months on full time baby formula theft binge

Couple would steal between 15 and 24 cans per visit

The formula would be hidden in their baby son's stroller

Staff became suspicious at 'lumpy' blankets

Duo arrested and son taken into care

Lucrative black market in baby formula as product is always in demand

More stores are locking up the cans to deter shoplifters
