Officer Refuses to Arrest Man After Seeing What Item He Was Trying to Shoplift | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1318450 United States 02/02/2015 03:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1318450 Yeah totally. The one chance an officer has to help clean up the community, he goes and blows it. As long as he can rob stores and go home and cook up a batch of meth with his baby formula then no harm done. We need that shit on the street ruining dozens of teenagers lives. But yet don't you dare jaywalk with your dog while minding your own business unless you want to be tazed half to death and your dog shot 15 times. Good job officer. That'll do pig. That'll do. hes telling the truth though. you think this is the first time this guy has stole? you think it will be the last? "Telling the truth"... and you know this how? I *could* be that this story is exactly what it appears to be on its face... a hungry baby, concerned/desperate dad, nice cop. No dope, no scam, no dereliction of duty, no wtfeverelse you'd like to paint it with to negate the "cop did a good thing" aspect. Everything else is pure speculation. What judge would grant sole custody to the father for a 6 month old infant? Probably not many because only the mother can provide essential nutrients from her breast milk. Not only that but baby formula is expensive. Around $30 per jar and they could go thru 2 jars a week. Do you know how much profits the store would lose if everyone got away with it? It is actually not that great for the infant's health but I do understand the mothers could occasionally not be around because she's dead or whatever. But being poor is no excuse to steal because there's plenty of charities that would be more than willing to help out a single father in need. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66048410 Canada 02/02/2015 03:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Police officer Justin Roby received a shoplifting call from a Kroger grocery store in London, Kentucky. After arriving on the scene, Roby found out that the shoplifter was a single father trying to steal a can of baby formula for his 6-month-old baby. Quoting: Esmee “Me citing him for court wouldn’t have done any good for him,” he said. “He’s already short on money, can’t afford formula, so me making him appear in court, he’s still not going to have any food for that baby.” But what Roby did next showed the shoplifter what it truly means “to protect and serve” one’s community. He bought some formula himself, giving it to the man for his baby. [link to www.orrazz.com] . Bulllshittt... They steal the baby formula and sell it for drugs.. |

My experience has always been that the vast majority of law LEOs are good officers. This story doesn't surprise me at all. what else doesn't surprise me is that people who break laws and believe that they are entitled to exemption of consequence are the people preaching about "abuse" and spewing all of the hate for cops. One could search the entire internet for every negative/abuse of power story relating to LEOs EVER written, tally the total number of "bad" officers reported in all of American history, and that number would equate to FAR LESS than the total number of current, active-duty officers serving in this country at this very moment. There is an agenda to sell the idea that ALL cops are "bad" and "abusive", and that is exactly why it is common to see "negative" police stories. Yet, considering the number of current police officers, there would have to be over 100,000 new "abuse" stories every single day for it to be logical to assume that it is true that all cops are "bad". |

But then, I would not post a positive story about a cop, as a way to say that only 'some' are good.... when in reality, a majority are very decent people. +1 this is comming from a person that has been in amd out out the system for years. Only met three to four bad cops. One an ex fbi agent actually bought me a hamburger while transporting me from jail ro jail. So yes only a handfull of bad police |

Nothing in the original story is about race. This is a story about humanity, one toward another. That's it. And humanity stretches across all races, everywhere. Focus on that please. . |

Our violent-crime rates are almost non-existent. So are you saying that it is actually ghetto-dwelling, crime-embracing minorities that cause the problems on the street, and the cops, being human and fallible, do the best they can with a bad situation and it doesn't always turn out well for all involved? Cause that's what I'm saying. |
