I am so sick of explaining what an Atheist is.

Some Atheists may believe in the big bang and some may not as some may believe in evolution and some may not.

Atheism only says there is no God. Atheism is not a science.

That being said, there are plenty of theists and probably most atheists that believe the Big Bang theory is the best theory around right now for the start of the universe.

The Big Bang is a speculative theory. Do I know where we came from? Nope.

But until Jesus comes down and has a chat with me in person, I'm afraid I'm going to be skeptical of any theory that involves talking snakes, thunderbolts, sorcery and withcraft, magic trees, or the dead returning to life.

The Bible just isn't compelling enough. If I took the screenplay for Battlestar Galactica, revised it into Holy Book format, and dumped it off in ancient times... people would be worshipping Adama today instead of Jesus.

OP, born-again Christian here. Please treat atheists with more respect. Remember that Jesus equated calling someone a moron with murder in Matt 5:21-22. We are directly commanded to be kind to everyone in several places, such as 2Tim 2 and Titus 3.

And before you answer "Jesus turned over the money changer's tables and called the Pharisees snakes, Elijah mocked the prophets of Baal, etc.", remember hermeneutics 101: Commands take precedence over examples. If there is an example in the Bible that seems to be different from a command in the Bible, you need to obey the command first and figure out the example second.
