after having numerous girlfriends growing up, and starting the hanky-panky rather young, I spent a decade as the 'forever alone' guy. I enjoyed it, too. I would still be that guy if I hadn't met my wife.

But I have so much love to give. I'd really like to have a girlfriend and make a family with her. Family weekends spent hiking, holding hands, walking together in the park. Picnic in the park or just sitting on a bench hugging and watching the stars in the summer sky wondering if they are looking at us now.

I was just asking if I am meant to be alone forever....literally, two minutes ago.

My soul mate and I found each other in the craziest of ways.

She went to bed one night, crying and asking for help in meditation, and the next morning, a male voice told her to contact me, calling me by my full name.

Perhaps, but I'm like OP, and I've been working on myself and relationships for decades. Occasional success, then failure for 10 years at a time.

I think there's a reason why they say women like bad boys (read jerks). No wonder why we have so many abused women. My mom is actually one and she still lives with my verbally abusive dad. He is an anti-example for me. And I have never been like him. Even when i would attract girl to me as a kid I was a kind heart. But I guess kind only gets the girls in kindergarten and elementary school. After middle school they love jerks.

women are looking for security ... that's why they are attracted to the Alpha males - the "bad boys" make them feel safe ...

make yourself independent - and you will have to beat them away with a stick ... the last thing women want are whiners - they want WINNERS ...

You mad? I don't think getting your nose broken and shouted at by your man is security. And my dad is quite lazy. In fact he leaches on my mom's money. What kind of security is that?

Anyway, her life is her life and she refuses to listen to reason. Please if anyone of you is into reiki and the likes, send me some positive energy as I need it! I don't want to start hating people again like I did back in high school due to my frustration of being forever alone. I no longer hate people but I am not sure I will not go back to that if I don't find a girlfriend soon. I guess my problem is I hate striking up convos with strangers, I'd rather have the girl approach me first and that's rare.

I've been forever alone all my life and I think it's great, the only one I love is me. As there's only room in my heart for me no one else would fit. Learn to love being alone and you'll never be lonely. Don't wreck your life by tying it to someone else's anchor.

Well at least I am one of the few people that wrote FB messages and emails to almost everyone they have ever met in their lives that was a good person telling them "Thank you... for being part of my life... Although I knew you for just a little while you were great." and the likes. And some of them didn't remember me but I don't care - they don't have to. What matters is that they had an influence on me whether they know it or nor! Quite frankly how many people would do that?!

If you wait for the woman who comes to you, you will end up with all the psychos. Women are most attracted to wealth. You could be Hitler but if you're a millionaire they'll put up with it. The other thing is women are begrudgers, jealous, they want what they see some other woman has, so just hanging out and having a good time with casual friends will make you more desirable to them. And then there are the women you thought you wanted years ago that said they never wanted kids but now have them, are single and find no new man really wants to deal with the kids and the ex (who is always in the picture if their are kids, unless dead or in jail). I guess you could always go gay but they seem to be bigger drama queens than women and I dont know how anybody puts up with that. Good luck, find someone worthy of you, that youbwant to be around without having to pretend being something you are not.

^^But how can they know who is a millionaire? Do they sense it? I've heard stories of guys faking being rich and the chicks fell for it. But what if you live in a frugal society like the Netherlands where even rich people use bicycles and don't show their wealth like it's customary in some other countries?

I prefer telling people things like "I already ate" and if they are not close or too pushy "It's disgusting". It's one of my flatmates catchphrase. I love it. Much better than "I am intolerant" or "It makes me feel sick".

See, telling people something like that is bad because it's like saying "Look at me, I am not normal, I have problems". It's like social suicide. People tend to avoid those who are ready to tell them about their physical ailments. And it's bad to tell it in front of the opposite sex as their subconscious will be like "Oh this guy/girl is f-d up, they are not suitable for mating". I guess that's the reason why I got friend zoned when I would talk about my gluten issues. Psychology 101.

As you get older the women will come out of the woodwork. Young girls think they like bad guys. Young men like girls who don't wear knickers. Then they grow up.

Men like you are rare and appreciated a bit later, same as good girls. They also don't get dates, why would they? The guys want a draws dropper.

Hang in there OP. Some woman is going to be a lucky one, when she meets you. You will be lucky too because she will know she has a gem in you.
