Past Recent Internet "Outages" Have Been Cover For Incoming Net Neutrality Surveillance State
You may have noticed a few threads over the past weeks and months about about internet and related cell phone ATM and related outages here and there, and everywhere, off and on, attributed to squirrels chewing through lines, or vandals, or hub maintenance and the like.

At first the threads were being deleted, but I guess someone thought doing that would cause more harm than good by bringing attention as to "why" those threads were being deleted.

ALL COVER FOR:

The Net Neutrality Thing.

They've been shifting everything over in advance. Taking down the hubs and putting 'em back up with all the necessary changes to their own surveillance ends. There's no "FCC vote". Everything's already been decided long ago as part of the larger plan. They just has to wait for the timing to be right.

I'm sure the unit behind GLP and their superiors in the chain of command think they're doing a great deal to maintain National Security.

Perhaps we should thank them for a change. Your choice.

Listening to the Merlin Project guys on coast to coast and wasn't paying much attention but a questions was asked and the guy George, not snorry, his guest, took a deep breath and began to answer when snorry said to him to "be careful what he says".

Just like someone would say that here on GLP.

mesh networking. i'm becoming more and more convinced that the peer to peer model, such as bittorrent, bitcoin, airbnb et al, is actually the solution we need politically, too. move away from centralised power grids to decentralised, localised networks.

Re: Past Recent Internet "Outages" Have Been Cover For Incoming Net Neutrality Surveillance State
The 3 biggest internet poker sites were shut down by the Department of Justice in 2011. Since then, 3 more American facing sites have defied the American government and slowly grown in popularity.

Starting in December 2014, these 3 sites have been experiencing massive Distributed Denial of Sevice (DDOS attacks) attacks that disconnect players and cost them money. The sites have refunded players numerous times. It's caused both the sites and players to lose a lot of money.

It could be related.

It's funny you mention that because that's precisely the solution that the American facing poker sites are turning to. They've recently started allowing Bitcoin deposits and withdrawals.

The US Gov is pissed off about it, too. They raided the Las Vegas home of the owner of one of these sites last month, Seals With Clubs. Immediately before his home was raided the servers in Romania started having disconnection problems.

It seems to be connected to what is being discussed here in this thread.
