Dealing with the constant snow is a pain in the ass and takes some getting used too...but we deal with it...what else are we gonna do? Depression can happen because of lack of sunlight so try not to focus on that. Happy thoughts :) |

My problem this winter was that especially the downspouts froze solid so the whole roof drainage system backed up, causing ice dams and all the rest. |

Not sure if I entirely understood the issue, but if it is going to snow for 40 days, turn off the heat on such things and let it freeze. You are not going to be able to melt and drain the snow off the roof anyway. That's where the snow removal equipment comes in. Many parts of Norway roofs will have to be cleared off snow many times per winter, or the weight of the snow will crush the roof. You may want to check what snow load the roof construction is designed for. |

Dafuq if the bridge collapses haha. The d3. Im not sure if it gives you mad dreams but yesterday, I was in a pub, then 3 blokes started to stab me with flick knives and they were really strong, like professionals or something. They kept beating me up and shit. When they left I decided to jump on the back of the van they left in to see where they were going. When it stopped, I thought il just run at the driver at the right moment and get a kick in but still to strong. More beatings, then I pulled out a samurai sword and maybe cut into one of their arms. Wierd. Im quite a placid person. Lets hope it isnt going to be real. Take it easy anyway |

Many parts of Norway roofs will have to be cleared off snow many times per winter, or the weight of the snow will crush the roof. You may want to check what snow load the roof construction is designed for. This year I got a snow rake, which with the height and angle of my roof, is able to reach a few feet over the edge. If I get started on this before the ice dams form and keep the downspouts flowing, why would I not be able to keep the drainage working? If you're saying the snow on the roof would not be melting and so would accumulate, well if the weight becomes too much of course that's a problem I don't know what my roof was designed for, it was built strong but built by the previous owner over 50 years ago. In about 2011 we had a bad winter and after there were piles of snow on the roof, a rainstorm was coming. That's when I paid a crew in an emergency to shovel my roof before the storm. Other neighbors were doing the same, because the rain would soak the snow and the weight would go up a lot. But this winter I wasn't in danger that way. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68505046 As long as it is frozen there will not be any moisture entering the drains - they will be sealed, so less of a problem. It is only when it starts to melt you want to pay attention. |
