Under Armour, the official sponsor of the Baltimore riots
First the Maryland Governor wears an Under Armour shirt while giving a press conference earlier today. Now the Mayor of Baltimore is at a press conference wearing an Under Armour baseball hat. I'm starting to see some questionable patterns here.

yep, I saw the Mayor with the hat on and thought it very odd and inappropriate for a mayor to basically be a billboard for advertisement.

I saw the mayor with the hat on too and my first thought was that it was pretty inappropriate for her to be wearing a label during a press conference then my second thought was I wondered how much she was getting paid to wear the hat.

There was some council member that even evoked Under Armor, quoted some advertising jingle of theirs during an interview..

This is shameful.. Taking advantage of a national crisis to push their product.. #BoycotUnderArmor

I noticed this as well… To me this is shameful and intentional. Of course I understand the connection between under armor and University of Maryland and the student as a whole… There's even a recent news story about a company providing, potentially, new uniforms to the Baltimore police force. But come on… The corporate plug is truly shameless with baited breath… I wonder how invested under armor is in West Baltimore and how many jobs it provides? If it is a good record, good for them… I have no idea – I'm just asking the question.I don't see the many pastors and church leadership selling out like the secular political leadership.

Funny how they seem to be the ones what is the secret creating the peace and showing real leadership

Re: Under Armour, the official sponsor of the Baltimore riots
They're sponsored.

It's just a form of uniform.

Although I won't claim that the term "underarmor" does not produce a related and possibly intended connotation.

The fact that they're located their and they have the city emblems with the shirt logo means that they bought those as a deal and all the "official" employees that have a presence can probably get them.

Businesses like Oakley and Under Armour give discounts to .gov...so often Government officials will get their apparel through them.
