Restrictions on travel, being harrassed and annoyed while you're just trying to go about your normal life, having to read or hear in the news every day of people being shot dead on the street by police for minor infractions. The possibility of being swatted and shot in your home because someone lied about you to the police or they suspected you of something.

The problem is, you don't have to do anything wrong in a police state to go to the gulag. people in Russia went to Siberia just for having in their possession books the police state didn't like. It always winds up getting out of hand.

Once you give some control freak the power to control people, they just add more and more powers to control as every day goes by. They always see something, they have to put a stop to, dancing, card playing, watching the wrong TV shows.

The police state attracts those kind of assholes who just can't leave other people alone, until everything becomes a crime.

One nice thing Stalin's predominantly Jewish NKVD did is this:

The next year, if you said you produced 500 bushels of corn and 500 bushels of wheat on your farm, the new tax for you was 600 bushels of corn and 600 bushels of wheat. The NKVD enforced this and had all the produce confiscated and shipped back to Moscow.

Needless to say after a few years of this rough treatment, massive starvation took over in Ukraine, and the Holomodor was born. The Holomodor claimed estimated 14-16 million lives due to starvation.

That last president of Ukraine (Yanukovych) that got chased out by the Maidan junta, made a big deal of this and he wanted it all on the record - who the NKVD were, and what they did in the 30's. Abe Foxman was on his ass not to release the list of names publicly because they were over 90% Jewish.

Needless to say - Yanukovych, is no longer in power.
