I guess all that money the mayor Porker just spent on Buffalo Bayou running trails just washed away. Well it was nice while it lasted.

Remember when the French foreign minister warned Kerry of climate chaos in 500 days? Were getting close to that?

This happens every ten years or so. Check spring/summer 2003. It was bad then too.

The people there seem a little dumb, you would think at some point cars would start to back up/out.

Have you noticed that we always kill off the good guys and let the demons run amok?
But don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.

^ THIS

This is not climate chaos, Jade Helm, "unprecedented," "worst ever," etc.

If you've lived on the TX Gulf Coast for at least 10 years, you've experienced this at least once. If you've lived there longer, well then you're a pro at this sorta thing.

Most non-locals freak out the first time they experience a standard TX rainstorm with golf ball size rain drops, let alone a flash flood or noteworthy storm like this.

The media hypes it because doom sells. And politicians hype it because if their response sucks, they have some wiggle room, and if their response meets or exceeds expectations, they're heroes.

Only difference between this and the last big Houston storm is there more Obamatards living off gov't cheese, more transgender bathrooms, and the Rockets are in the playoffs.

God's punishing Texas for not believing in Climate Change.

Now watch, Texas will be asking the Feds to pick up the bill here...

Last week they wanted to secede, but now, they want someone else to pay to clean up the mess.

Unless it's as bad as Tropical Storm Allison, it's just a decent Texas downpour.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68476868

Worse Texas storm ever. It's not just a downpour.
 Quoting: nutmeg

I promise it's not.

Tropical Storm Allison:

* 35 inches of rain in 12 hours
* 95,000 cars flooded and/or abandoned
* 73,000 homes flooded
* 41 deaths
* cars stranded on every Houston area freeway...not just 59
* Texas Medical Center under water
* only tropical storm to have its name retired
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68476868

This exceeds that by a long shot.

You realize this storm hit all of central Texas, Austin, etc, and broke 2 state dams?

200K homes destroyed, easy.

It's crazy, I grew up in small towns around Houston and I only remember it flooding 1time, but that was more local to the super small town and amounted to just a few inches that stayed for a few days...would've been this time in 94.
