Breaking: Fire at Apple factory in AZ linked to Solar Panels

MESA, AZ - Officials battled a second-alarm fire at the Apple building in Mesa on Tuesday morning.

Mesa fire said the fire started before 11:30 a.m. near Elliot and Signal Butte Roads in east Mesa.

A fire broke out on Tuesday at the facility, home to failed efforts by a supplier to manufacture sapphire screens for iPhones and the future location of an Apple data center. The blaze, which began on the roof of the more than 1.3 million-square-foot building, caused damage around the building’s loading docks, Forrest Smith, a spokesman for the city’s fire department, wrote in an e-mail.

The fire was limited to solar panels above the building, and never actually got inside, according to that report. As many as 50 people had to be evacuated, but nobody was hurt. 100 firefighters are on the scene, according to a tweet by ABC15 anchor Justin Pazera.

Everyone that worked on that building had to sign a non disclosure agreement, wonder why? I just asked if they installed the metal plates on the concrete walls for when they need to put up the suicide nets.
