Anyone who works with animals and trains them should admire Steve. As for stupidity thats false, he had courage and did not hurt the animals, just showed them a human was their feeder and handlers. Thats not stupidity. People who own horses or elephants as those folks in India and all zoo keepers worldwide should be fond of Steve and truly know he had a rare gift to do and be what he did. Sadly, Steve was not wise with the sea creature only with land animals.

I'm not too sure what you are asking here Starlight, but if you're wondering why there's been no feed-back concerning his life and death from anyone other than caucasian/white people, well that's probably because his shows were only telecast in English speaking countries. My cousin, (a caucasian) who lives in France had no idea who Steve Irwin was when I told him about Steve's death. In any case, I'm sure there are lots of non-caucasians living in English-speaking countries (ie the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and countries in the UK) who know of him and have probably even expressed their condolences here on GLP for all we know.

I wouldn't worry too much about this Starlight ..... Steve knows he was loved by millions around the world but I grieve for his wife and his two gorgeous children - their hearts must be filled with unimaginable sorrow at this time. It's very, very sad.

alot of other so called wold life expers would have the animals planted for the camera, but not steve he showed them in there habitat, grabed them and put them in our lounge rooms via camera, then he would loveingly release them.

better than killing and maiming them for a trophey on the wall or floor, and he spent the money he made on animal consevation and not houses and flashy material assets like most people do, that is why he was so good at what he did, he was a natural.

and many people from all walks of life knew of him, the only boke who would do what we thought only tarzan in tv shows could do, and he was crazy, crazy like a FOX.

His risks were educated risks, not stupid, he knew what he was doing all the time.

it sadens me to see the lack of respect for the loss his darling Wife and children are going through, shame shame shame on thoes with no souls.

That's not true! Some of my ethnic friends were saddened by his passing. Irwin touched all people who loved nature.

When Princess Di died all races went and placed flowers and it was shown all races admired and loved her. Shouldn't Steve have all races admire and feel the loss of this courages man who gave his life for wild animals, to teach us we share our planet with them too? Its one thing to watch filming of wild animals and another to actually see a person reaching out and touching them and telling all about them. I see a rare courage in Steve that few will be able to do. Does Steve's courage come from the DNA in Caucasians. I don't want to believe that. The courage Steve had was handling danger not killing it.

OP, you need to expand the circle of people that you know. All of the blacks that I know were as saddened by Irwin's death as anyone else.

His courage did come from Steve's heart and an animal proved that to be true.

Starlight, did you read my post above? He just wasn't known in the non-English-speaking world. That's the only reason, I'm sure, that you haven't seen non-whites around the world grieving his death. Please don't fret.

Princess Diana was a British Royal whose face graced magazine covers world-wide each and every day. Her life was an open book (unfortunately) and everybody around the globe knew her and loved her deeply.

If it's any consolation to you, I saw on the news a few hours ago that the grounds surrounding the entrance to Steve's zoo are covered (inches deep at that) with bunches and bunches of flowers - almost as many as were placed outside of Buckingham Palace when Princess Diana died.

Look up the word Caucasian and it's origins.Whites are about as mixed as anyone else.Common bond being varied shades of white (not really white)growing up i was innundated with images of white people their lives, their ways.(one parent being white the other native amerian)I have no problem with whites,some of my heros are white, black, red, yellow,scottish,french, dutch,chinese.However nothing was ever taught or mentioned(if only vaguely) in school about these other types of people.
