Anonymous Coward User ID: 56229227 United States 06/29/2015 09:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So this is what this ruling means in plain English: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69488633 Today the polls open for voting. You walk into your polling place and give them your name and street address. At this point they MUST separate you into one of two lines. 1. If you registered to vote using the federal registration form (where you did not have to prove your citizenship) you may go to the voting booths where you can vote ONLY for federal candidates. The state registration form requires proof of citizenship. 2. If you registered to vote using the state registration form (where you had to prove your citizenship) you may go to the voting booths where you can vote for federal, state, and local candidates. Won’t that be a blast at the polls when a voter is DENIED their rights to vote for a state and local candidate because of HOW they registered!? And then the state form and requirements will be challenged and wiped out. This is all about eliminating the states power. States must react to this craziness or our Soviet-style life in the USA will continenue. |

Its the Federal government who is to protect the boarders and address border invaders and visa overstays. Yet the do not. The Federal government would have to acknowledge its own failing - a massive failing - if it did just let any non-citizen do what they want. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 66720965 United States 06/29/2015 09:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The SC needs to be disbanded. They are clearly not looking out for what's in the best interest of US citizens. I fail to see how proving you are a US citizen before you vote violates anyone's constitutional rights. The only people who should get constitutional rights are US citizens anyway. There is a difference between human rights and constitutional rights. People should not be shot in the head on the side of the road for fun (a violation of human rights) if they are not US citizens but they sure as fuck should not get any benefits in this country of anything else if they are not US citizens other than getting a constitutional trial if they are charged with a crime. and no, the constitution does not give you the right to a taxpayer funded education or any of the other "free" shit that illegals and other foreign suck asses suck up. If you are not a homeowner paying ass tons of property taxes and you are not a US citizen you should not be allowed into public school unless you pay fucking tuition. |

Mountainman15 User ID: 69545688 United States 06/29/2015 09:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Voting-Rights Advocates Get Win at Supreme Court Quoting: Doc Savage By Simone Pathé Posted at 3:57 p.m. today Monday’s big election law news came from the Supreme Court’s penultimate decision of the term upholding Arizona’s congressional districts. But before handing down its last three decisions, the court made voting-rights advocates happy by deciding not to review a different election case. “Arizona citizens can continue to participate in voter registration drives without worrying about not having proof of citizenship documents,” Shirley Sandelands, of the League of Women Voters of Arizona, said in a statement Monday. The case, Kobach, et al. v. Election Assistance Commission, et al., was about whether Arizona and Kansas could require voters to prove their citizenship when registering to vote with the so-called “federal form.” Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach led the suit against the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, which was an appeal of a lower court decision. Both Kansas and Arizona have state laws that require applicants to prove their citizenship when applying to vote with state forms (for state or federal elections). But the U.S. EAC denied the states’ requests to have their citizenship laws applied when would-be voters use the standardized federal form. The Supreme Court had already ruled in 2013 that state proof-of-citizenship laws couldn’t be applied when people try to register with the federal form. The states’ direct request to the EAC was a last-ditch effort to get around that. By not hearing the case, the Supreme Court effectively upheld the decision of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled against Arizona and Kansas in November 2014, saying the EAC did not have to modify its form to meet state laws. Under the federal form, would-be voters need only swear under penalty of perjury that they are citizens. “This is a very big deal,” University of California Irvine Law Professor Rick Hasen wrote on his election law blog Monday. “Kobach had the potential to shift more power away from the federal government in administering elections toward the states,” he added. Marisol User ID: 69097895 Puerto Rico 06/29/2015 09:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Obama's master plan is to ensure there isn't another election. What is happening is so insane, so insulting to any US citizen that there has to be some kind of backlash from all of this. The dishonesty, the fraud, the outright disrespect is without precedent in history. He is so playing the SCOTUS against "we the people"; they all have such dumb grins on their faces. The signing of so many EAs has some, essentially going against pieces of legislation already approved by Congress. These are the actions of someone who really, really wants to stay in power, no matter the cost. His soldiers have the goods on everybody and there is no way out from under his control. Hillary looks more and more like she is in a daze, shell shocked. If she doesn't accept the inevitable her house of cards is going to crumble very soon; she is just going the gestures of running for president. She has been played at her own game. *A diplomat is someone who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you will look forward to the trip." |
