Instead of pushing him to get married, indicate plainly that you want children. In the event the man has children, he is obviously obligated by the State to provide child support, but that is locked in to 18 years. By avoiding a marriage contract, the man is preventing himself from being exposed to alimony and spousal support should you just decide to change your mind [guarantee if this guy didn't have so much money you would have left YEARS ago]. |

cosmicgypsy User ID: 68929326 United States 08/11/2015 07:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You do realize marriage hinges on a piece of paper, right? It's my experience that it means NOTHING where the value of loving devotion are concerned. The children thing: DO NOT force, manipulate, or trick a man into having a child...for the child's sake, just don't do it. If having children is more important than having a relationship with this man (if he's not wanting children), then head out. And how are we supposed to know whether or not he thinks you're good enough to be his wife? You've been with him for 15 years and you don't even know. Sheesh. You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete. -Buckminster Fuller ...I adapt to the unknown, under wandering stars I've grown, by myself, but not alone...
