The Reformed Baptist Church Is The Only Bible Believing Church In My City

You do not need anybody to read the Bible to you, or do you?

Not true at all of them---there's one in my area that has a 20 to 30 minute sermon and the rest of the hour is singing, etc.

The whole "go to church and listen to sermons" paradigm is not found in the NT. Nothing says it's forbidden of course, but anything that promotes "lording over" (regardless of how benevolent it may be), passivity (sitting in pews), seeking an authoritative interpreter besides the Holy Spirit, and attention directed to "the man" or the "worship team", bears no resemblance to the interaction of equals we see in the NT.

So look instead for believers who don't want to be your authority or "covering", who only seek to glorify Jesus rather than themselves, and who genuinely care about each other beyond pot-luck dinners and programs. Don't "go" to church, "be" the church.

The word "sermon" isn't even in the Bible. "Bible- believing" church is kind of an oxy-moron; Father seeks for those who DO, not just believe. How can churches say they believe in something they don't even read, let alone study?
