I was a witness to the initiating thread. I might have even commented in there somewhere, I'd have to see the thread again to try to jog my memory. I don't remember the particular imminent doom being discussed, but somewhere in the discussion someone asked if they should bring in their tomato plants, as in how extreme was whatever incoming disaster we were expecting, but really more just someone cracking what ended up being a running joke.

Whether it was referencing weed is up for debate. That was not my read of it at the time.

"Tomatoe" is similar to plantar fasciitis except that instead of the heel, it targets the toes ... typically both the proximal and distal areas of the hallux on the right foot.
