Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70283429 if you have no bills, start putting it away..at least half of it. 1800 is a LOT of money if you don't blow it all in bars and have no bills. It's poverty if your trying to raise a family From 18 to 30 if you invest 2K a year in IRA sensible funds and never invest another dime, by 65 it will be worth 1.5 million or something like that. |

I would suggest a trade school if you want to do better. Something in IT would be smart. Do not go to college. Huge waste of time. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65456342 This. Trade school. Not college I know you all say that but being in IT and commonly interviewing new hires most places will never look at his resume UNLESS he has a Bachelor of Science degree. THIS is where college pays off I am told to trash all other IT resumes. |

They probably also offer good benefits and vacation/sick days. Don't go missing work. Be a good worker. For the right person factory work can be lucrative, especially in the long run. I myself could never do factory work. My early years were spent in construction where I had changing tasks that required decision making and a certain level of involvement. My first factory job was to run a piece of sandpaper down chair legs before they got chromed. I quit that job after 2 hours. My second factory job was at a box factory. I packaged boxes on an assembly line. I made it 3 days there. I am not suited for that kind of work. It's too robotic for me. |
