Anonymous Coward User ID: 28600565 Costa Rica 10/06/2015 02:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 1. Work ethic… in order to be a good to great salesman, you must learn through pain and reward. Every time I did not sell my product I learned, and every time I did sell I learned. 2. Be Teachable… anyone who thinks they "know" something can be easily replaced by someone who does not, but is willing to learn. This I cannot emphasize enough, as those who thought they could produce, found that they were not cut out for the job, just because they were not able to receive advice or instruction 3. There are steps to making a sale. Approach, contact, setting the appointment, presentation, CLOSING THE DEAL, follow up, and REFERRALS. These steps exist in every marketing and sales organization. 4. Numbers… more contacts = more appointments = more demos = more sales = more referrals 5. Mental toughness. This is why many are NOT cut out for door to door sales, or any other type of sales. You must understand that "no" is not a personal attack. You must have a thick skin that will bring a positive attitude forward at all times… every "no" is a blessing in disguise because if you have work ethic, and do the numbers, a "no" is a step in the right direction 6. I love sales, and any salesman should. It is the bedrock of the "free market" and the source of all production to those who are not selling but with the company. You should love your product, love people, and love being straight commission, because that way there is no "cap" to what you can or should earn except your own mind and your own vision to what you feel you can do personally. No one can bring you down. You are mostly responsible for your own success and longevity. Patriotic Dude…. what you should ask is the following…. What is the product you are selling? Who is your market? Do you like people? Is there training? Can you get behind the product or idea that this company sells? Do you believe in it? The rest is summed up by WORK ETHIC… The best salespeople always achieve their goals or give their best effort to do so. That is something to be proud of…. Good Luck! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 46593945 United States 10/06/2015 02:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Looks like a bunch of 20 somethings trying to prove to mommy or daddy that they are worth something and can make something of their lives. Be sure to ask how many years experience they have. Most of those pictured look young. Startups are kind of scary without strong leadership/ experience. Plus all the platitudes on the website that are glaring no-nos on any resume. E.g. "We have become the leading choice for clients wanting to gain an edge over their competitors. " How? Examples? What type of implementations? "...The more personal and direct approach accomplishes what traditional form of sales and marketing such as telemarketing, e-mails, direct mail, commercials, and billboards can not: lasting customer relationships." What's their longest client relationship? I'm pretty sure every marketing company would boast this, so what's the 'allure'? Also inquire about the pay structure. Are there salaried positions vs. commission only? Make sure you aren't just a lemming. Walk into the interview intending to interview them. Learn as much as you can about what they do and who works there to formulate questions for them that answers the question you're asking us. Basically the goal of the interview is for you to determine if it is a waste of your time (assuming you're qualified). Good luck! |
