If Assad was anywhere close to as unpopular as the mainstream media would have us believe... he would have been gone 3-4 years ago.

It's all lies, from the beginning this was about regime change and nothing else. The very existence of ISIS is for this singular purpose. ISIS provides Obama the excuse he wants to be involved, while serving as the proxy to impose another arbitrary regime change on a sovereign nation.

Thinking about what the US government has become, since 9/11 especially, is enough to make me nauseous. People are waking up en masse and that's why they are panicking!!

Actually our media spreads that there will be further billions of syrian refugees if we allow assad & russia to continue bombarding. Not even 10% of the refugees are syrians according to translators in local authorities, but of course all those iraqi, pakistani, afghans, somali and what else "refugees" are all coming because of assad & putin, lol, how dumb is that...

Putin is the mature one. For example, when he went in after the nazi's in the ukraine started murdering eastern block there, he had a moral obligation to stay but they had set up the world to misconstrue it, and he had a choice.

He chose to not instigate ww3. He wasn't pulled in.

He constantly chooses, to not start ww3, he is like a mature older brother who does not get roped into things, and will pacify situation.

Its truly a strong wise position.

And I don't want to be touting Russia's good points, tend to be highly suspicious of every leader, but all we have to go on is what we know and see and so to paint him with the same brush to me at this point is bearing false witness against him.

Without a doubt, Obama is to blame he wanted to clear all of the leaders in Libya, Syria, Egypt and replace them with muslim brotherhood.

Gaddafy was no threat and was actually a stabilizing factor in the ME.

There are tens and tens and tens of thousands of Syrian (and even more Libyan) refugees in Egypt. They aren't here for "benefits." Their benefits are their children have access to the national health care system and schools. No hand-outs whatsoever.

Well, of course there's the lack of bombs and looming death, which of course is a benefit.

Every single one that I've talked to has said the same thing: their life was good in Syria and all they want is the life they had before.

Yes, you can find millions who was not harmed by Hitler and Stalin as well.

You're absolutely right! Apparently their short term geopolitical ambitions take precedence. Our elected leaders are only figure heads there is a long range agenda driving this and to make it paltable for the displaced in the meantime, Europe is being offered up. I'd rather see Assad stay in power - the last 10 years of disruption in the ME has been horrific.

I am surprised that RT voluntarily used the term REGIME - this is a pejoritive term used as part of the State Department/CIA/DoD propaganda war.

In 20 years when this is declassified you will see the intentional use of this term by media as a bullet point in some document.
