In my faith there will be a period of a thousand years where there will be no war, and not any sickness. where if someone dies before their 100 b-day, they're considered cursed.

And all this time, I've been praying that I could teach the ones born into this...paradise, how messed up we REALLY are. How fortunate & utterly blessed they are to be born in their time period. To tell them about war, death, & bs stories like this.

I probably won't be allowed to, new nature & all but dang it those ppl deserve to know, REALLY KNOW how lucky & fortunate they really are. And I would consider it the ultimate blessing to be a kind of story-teller for those 1000 years.

Men are pretty terrible people. They commit significantly more [link to www.bjs.gov] violent crimes, robberies and assaults each year than women do, according to the Department of Justice. They are more likely [link to www.science20.com] to show anger in the workplace and be rewarded for it while women are affected negatively for the same behaviors. They even take up too much space on public transportation when “manspreading” [link to www.nytimes.com] I could keep going.

Men probably dominate all these “terrible” statistics because, now and throughout history, they’ve dominated the world. But that doesn’t give them a pass. They are still to blame even if they don’t know better, and it’s high time their dominant position – their entitled ignorance – was questioned and dismantled.

There is a “manhood in crisis” trend story to match each one pondering whether women can have it all. But manhood isn’t in crisis; it is the crisis. Still, last week author and activist Kevin Powell published an essay at CNN [link to www.cnn.com] where he announced, yet again, that manhood is in society’s crosshairs, and recommended a way to fix it.

He is correct. We see this violence from the bar fights over small issues to the violence that breaks out on streets when men are denied by women they catcall.

Thank you. Mr. Wonderful said to me when we were dating (24 years ago) that I was the perfect combination of liberated and old fashioned. It's all about balance. And, I think I'm lucky enough to be raised in a generation that had passed on to them the morals of those born in the 1920s/30s.
