So yes i would not vote for anyone or anything unless it was a problem solving of one of the root problems and not a fallen leaf of some random branch it came from |

Quoting: ThereRMeds4That I do think that congressional pay and benefits absolutely should be up to their wage payers though!!! wouldn't the problem simply be solved by voter turnout? think about it... |

Would you rather vote x into office or vote whether government does y / legislates z? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 47611418 What is democracy? Would rather vote on the issues directly which is a true representation of the will of the people, but in that instance it would just be cases of majority rules and that is not always going to lead to the desired outcome. Also, this would just be an intellectual excercise, the system we have is the system we have and the only way it can be changed is to work with what we have and nudge it along towards the desired end while taking into consideration the vox populi. The founders set up things the way they are for a reason and as time goes on it becomes more diluted and less important in the publics consciousness. Therefore, it would be beneficial for the system to maintain its connection to the roots from which it grew so as to avoid becoming strangled by the vines of its own opulence. |

I'd rather vote on the issues because atleast all of us would have some sort of word regarding bills and laws being passed. Politicians could care less about us. A politician votes whichever way a lobbying group pays them to vote. |
