Its great and all but I dont think that will stop any person from coming here on their own.. They could very easily get a way here and set up shop on their own. This just means they wont have govt helping them to get here

I agree and I DO -for several years now after hearing a former muslim general to whom The Lord appeared and his heart was circumcised with conviction of his deeds and the love of Christ became his and he now travels speaking to whomever will listen that there are 'sleeper cells' in our nation just waiting for the call to rise up and then "there will be blood in the streets across America." I spoke with him, bought his book in 2007 - tried to speak to diff ministers in church but they were dismissive. I am not very political, but I am going to write a letter to my governor and may others and put it in the mail. these are not 'immigrants' these are willing and groomed tools for jihad in our streets. if paris doesn't wake us common folk up to take action nothing will. maybe our votes don't count, but a handwritten letter will. given that most people email nowadays, your letter could have a great impact. please, I entreat you -for your children - write a letter and send it. I know I'm too busy, etc.. as well. please write it. we could find out that we are a groundswell. take back America, one letter at a time. write your gov.

Living down here in Florida (yeah, don't laugh; weep for us instead) and seeing and hearing the media and the do-gooder rabble rousers you would think 99.9% of everyone hated his guts and wanted to kill him. Instead he got re-elected rather easily on election night.

Dick Scott is an insurer whore. He does the bidding of the insurance industry, I work in that industry and know how much money he was given under the table. This is why I hate him. But this turn of events is quite a surprise for me.

Scott absolutely did NOT stop accepting Syrians. He passed the buck to Paul Ryan who, btw, is supporting the refugees.

Here is what Scott said: ""As the federal elected body that exercises oversight and authorizes federal spending, please take any action available through the powers of the United States Congress to prevent federal allocations toward the relocation of Syrian refugees without extensive examination into how this would affect our homeland security," Scott wrote."

Scott acknowledged in his letter that Florida does not have the authority to stop the federal government from relocating 10,000 Syrians over the next 12 months.

IOW, Scott's action is truly deceptive and dishonest.
