Oh so you think your eyes looking at a stupid picture are better than a laser altimeter or radar? Wrong.

we already had rgb cameras at this point of time. television was already in color. i mean even hitler has been filmed in color. why not the moon landings?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70787782

Every landing after Apollo 11 WAS filmed in color. The camera for 11 was a late addition. You did know there was more than one landing, right?

if we can use telescopes to picture distant galaxies, should it be possible to turn them on the moon and picture the flag of the empire?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70787782

Dawes' limit. look it up.

btw what about these chinese moon landings some years ago?

it wasnt mentioned at all on tv beside in a shortest manner possible? why...because the chinese even faked it worse and poorer than nasa. just look at it. its ridiculous.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70787782

unsupported opinion is an unsupported opinion

they cant find a jumbojet for a year...with high tech.
but they flew to the moon with atari 64kb haha
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70787782

The calculations to get to the Moon and back can be done on a slide-rule. Thanks for proving you haven't done any actual research.

but people will believe everything they are told by the "professionals", by "governemnt" and all the other useful idiots of the corporate state.

And you believe anything you read on a hoaxie site.

How is it possible that an eye or a cam isnt able to NOTICE something that IS THERE in real...

but it is possible to notice something thats ISNT THERE AT ALL!

The perfect sphere isnt there, is it? How could you notice something non existent while you cant notoice something that is there?

if we cant notice the existing because its to "fluid" or whatever..how can something not existing be less fluid and noticable? hahaha

The scientists using satellite data know a whole lot more about the Earth than you do.
I shudder to being up the idea of the Moon's MASCONs...but NASA was up on those as well...

Was that supposed to be English? It's not NASA's fault you think your ability to look at a picture is as accurate as proper high end geodesy.

Because it's too small to notice. You must have a very tenuous grasp on reality.

How big would the lens have to be to see evidence in a clear resolution of a moon landing from earth?

so what is relevant that much?

to spend that much money, to risk that much lives...

for what? to achieve what goal? landing on a big piece of rock?

never returning there again?

hmmm...i see no relevance at all.
 Quoting: Germany Coward 70787782

Maybe that is because you're not a peak-of-the-Cold-War American.

You not knowing or understanding other people's motivations tells us only something about you, not about other people.

why was it 70 years ago that important to fly to the moon and today it is even not a subject of debate.
 Quoting: Germany Coward 70787782

That question should have come first.

The Cold War, and the threat of Global Thermonuclear War, was very much an existential crisis.
Demonstrating that the US had superior technology, science, organisation, and industry, was very much a national priority.

Remember Sputnik?
Being able to shoot something that size into orbit (with an ICBM-derivative no less) meant that the USSR had the capability to nuke American cities by uninterceptable means.
The Yanks freaked out, they realised that there was a very important strategic technology in which they were actually lagging behind the enemy.
Thus the Space Race was born.
Apollo purpose was to focus the effort in the shape of a national priority programme, it had a number of specific political objectives:
- Re-affirm the US as the world's leading power, in the world's eyes as well as in the American public's eyes. The Cold War was as much about image as it was about weapons.
- Boost the high-tech industry's capabilities and technology to new unprecedented levels.
- Inspire a new generation into becoming scientist and engineers so the US would be able to stay on the technological forefront for many decades to come.
- To stimulate the economy. Modern armies are expensive, they require a big tax base.

If Kennedy's and LBJ's big egos hadn't gotten them into the South-East Asia mess it would have been an unqualified success.
Without the Cold War and nuclear weapons something like Apollo might still not have happened.

they cant drive around the corner not killing someone..but to da mooooonnn...
 Quoting: Germany Coward 70787782

Pray tell, what technologies were not up to the task of landing human beings on the Moon?

today we have no technology and ressources to fly to the is(i)s.
 Quoting: Germany Coward 70787782

But we do.

but half a decade ago we had tech to fly to the moon..absolutely.
 Quoting: Germany Coward 70787782

We still do.
Nobody is buying the whole package though.

The motivation to spend such extraordinary amounts of money simply doesn't exist anymore.
Well, maybe it does in China...

 Quoting: Norwegian Coward 71243060

At least a couple of hundred metres.

Kind of like looking at something smaller than a bus in a HEO with an amateur telescope.

Science Channel:
On Now...

Discussing Anomalous objects in certain images.

NASA scientist just said: The technology did not exit in the 60's and 70's to effectively fake the moon landings.

Does this guy even have a job anymore? I mean, c'mon ppl...

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. '

So no technology to fake, but technology to do?

I for one was a strong believer in the idea that we actually did go to the moon, until this tard just said what he said.
