Re: Researcher introduces Flat Earth theory to a room full of globe believers
If you still believe your on a ball spinning through space it means you have not done your homework yet. Save yourself a lot of hassle and learn flat earth from Er_c Dub_y. I left out the I and A because I often get banned for those words. He is the one that reintroduced the flat earth subject. There are lots of controlled gate keepers that are on the flat earth scene now.
 Quoting: awakesouls

Here is the standard flat earth answer to every question: "Do more research."

This is the Flat Earth tard acknowledging that he doesn't have the capacity to process information on his own, and must rely on the the Messiah of the New Reality movement, Eric Dubay. The flat earth idiots credit Dubay with having "reintroduced" this stone age notion, because they are too stupid to look in to his background and learn that he has been shunned by the original modern flat earth tards who consider him to be opportunistic and unstable. And yes, that is comical in and of itself.

What the flat earth movement is actually doing is revealing the morons among us. This AC did not become stupid when he joined the Dubay Jihad. He was stupid before, and because of Dubay, he's now revealed himself to be a devolving progenitor of the emerging idocracy.

I apologize in advance for using the word stupid to describe the FE tards, I understand that some of them find it offensive. If you're among those that take issue with that descriptor, just substitute the word "imbecilic" for "stupid".
 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

So you're smart because you believe a geostationary satellite is hitting your antennae on your apartment as it somehow resists forces such as:

The earth's 66k mph transit around sol
The milky way's rotation of 600k mph
And last, but not least, the 670M mph burst away from the Big Bang epicenter.

I suppose it's all relative, right?

Space being a close system and all.

Fell free to talk to us, and perhaps, with your superior knowledge, explain to us how that tin can remains in geostationary orbit despite those forces.

I'll hang up and listen, oh great one
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68782227

You misunderstand, Dubay-tard: I'm not claiming that I'm smart. I'm saying that you are stupid, and remarkably so. You're asking me to explain how the geosynchronous satellites that are facilitating our communication remain in orbit. So the fact of their existence is established because we're communicating through them.

Meanwhile, you don't ask your messiah (who holds you in contempt, by the way) why there is no evidence of the invisible dome that he claims covers the earth just a few miles up, and why you can't just walk up to that dome wherever it meets the flat earth's surface. You're much too stupid to recognize the dissonance in your own cognition. Sure, I could try to walk you through the calculations to show how a geosynchronous orbit it established, but I've been through this with enough Dubay butt lickers to know how you'll respond: if you bother to respond at all: you'll come up with another inane insult that anyone with an IQ over 40 would see is really an indictment of your own weak intellect, and then change the subject, telling me that I "haven't studied enough" or "you just don't understand the theory". Or you'll just stop disappear altogether while you back to sucking Eric's ass on youtube.
 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

I'm really sorry, Dubay-asswipe. I forgot to respond to the most ridiculous part of your post. Your claim that a satelilte could't withstand the motion of the orbital speed around the sun, etc. reveals something about you. I've assumed that you're just stupid, but ignorance and stupidity can sometimes mimic one another. You're able to at least comprehend orbital velocities, but tell me this: assuming that a geosynchronous or any other satellite is subject to any large magnitude velocity vector, what is there in the vacuum of space that would resist the passage of the satellite through it? At any velocity or in any direction?

Re: Researcher introduces Flat Earth theory to a room full of globe believers
...

If the flat earth theory gains more attention it just means more will be aware and want to know the truth.

Learning that we've been lied to for so long will have a huge effect on people and who knows? maybe they won't want to listen anymore, maybe there won't be a world war 3 because people won't believe the lies anymore and maybe they wont fight for a war they don't believe in.

The truth is the Earth is flat. Or at very least not what we've been programmed to believe.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49367763

I get this a lot from flat earthers, that we've all been "programmed" to believe something. And I suppose for the flat earthers, it's certainly true. They're knowing being programmed by the Prophet Dubay, who has visited paradise on his mythical unicorn and now assures his disciples that he is the keeper of all truth. This is classic cult programming, and all flat earthers invariably refer to their Prophet when the arguments get too hard for their tiny minds.

By contrast, folks with normal IQs always seek verification for any claim. I've watched the stars wheel around Polaris on a summer night. I've seen the midnight sun from the North Slope of Alaska, I've seen the earth's curvature during long transpacific flights. I've taken note of the fact that the horizon is further away for an observer on a hill than it is for an observer at sea level. I've looked at a stereo photographic pairs of Mars that show remarkable Martian landscapes in 3d. I've looked at the data from seismographs that show the shear waves don't pass through the earth's core while compressional waves do. Couple this with an enormous network of satellites that are vital for communication and navigation, and facilitate much of our technology, the hundreds of thousands of photos of the earth from space or high altitude, the consistent testimonies of high altitude pilots and and astronauts, and many other empirical data points, and it is obvious that the earth is a globe.

A flat earther must ignore all of these data and quite literally make up a new reality, which includes a dome (that just happens to be invisible), an edge (that no one has ever seen), a sun that circles at a few miles above our heads but that strangely allows snow to accumulate on tall mountains which are much closer to that sun than the oceans are, and lots of other imaginary "proofs".

So it's easy to see why an FE tard would imagine that others are programmed when they are so easily mislead.
 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

"I get this a lot from flat earthers," you said.
So you talk to flat earthers all the time? Looks like you've put an awful awful lot of thought and time into debating this topic.
You do seem to come to every thread I've seen.
Why do you hang around every flat earth thread? Just like to debunk, like really really love it lots? Just curious.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39099497

Turn the question around: If you've seen that I've visited every Dubay-tard thread, then obviously you've been there, too. Spreading your idiotic disinformation.

Why? What do you get out spreading lies and anti-intellectual nonsense?
 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

I should have responded here:

Today is the first time I've posted on one of these threads. I actually have said nothing about the actual theory, but am amazed by the insuiting comments repeatedly directed at polite persons interested in this particular topic.

You, however, seem to post in these threads daily..? At least, "all the time." What drives such passion to jump on these threads to debunk incessantly?

I feel curious about debunkers who are attracted to a conspiracy forum.

About 1400 years ago, a fellow named mohammed convinced a bunch of simpletons that he was the only one that knew the truth, and that everybody else was lying. Since he converted his first follower, over 110 million people have been slaughtered because one guy recruited a cult following.

In the 80's a guy name Marshall Applewhite convinced his followers that he was the only one that knew the truth, and everyone else was lying. Many of the men casttrated themselves, and at a bunch of them ended up committing suicide.

Cults have thrived throughout history using the very methods that Eric Dubay and his fellows are using, but with a much greater reach. Any counter influence I have is minuscule compared to theirs. Why don't you ask Dubay what drives him?

The strangest thing to me in these threads is the animosity. Like, wtf was with that other guy laughing saying you're all gonna die. And all the insults. I haven't experienced this since grade school. I'm not trying to sound sarcastic. I really haven't.

It's an interesting phenomenon to watch all these heads seem about to explode over his... come on, it's an Internet topic. It's kind of strange. Stranger than the topic even. Personal opinion.

This should be easy for you then. If there are thousands link us to just 1! No fake cgi crap, bust be genuine photo, or even better an actual video from space of a rotating earth, from one of at least 1 of the thousands of satelites in orbit.

You won't be able to do this, because there are NONE. Why is that? hmm

If you are able to produce just 1 genuine photo or video ill eat my own words.

Re: Researcher introduces Flat Earth theory to a room full of globe believers
Today is the first time I've posted on one of these threads. I actually have said nothing about the actual theory, but am amazed by the insuiting comments repeatedly directed at polite persons interested in this particular topic.

You, however, seem to post in these threads daily..? At least, "all the time." What drives such passion to jump on these threads to debunk incessantly?

I feel curious about debunkers who are attracted to a conspiracy forum.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39099497

 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

I don't know him. Do you? Was wondering if you know him, as your comments seem so angry and personal in regards to him. Can't imagine feeling so worked up otherwise. To me he's just a guy on YouTube and I'd be hard to out to feel any emotions about a total stranger.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39099497

I don't know Dubay. I didn't know Mohammed, or Jim Jones, but I despise them based on what I do know. Cults NEVER end well. When people manipulate other people for their own gain or for the thrill of power, it doesn't go well. Do you honestly not know that?

As for your claim that the animosity in these threads is only one way, you're simply not paying attention. Flat earthers are easily as vitriolic as anyone else.

Internet forums can be rough places, how long have your frequented them? To claim that you haven't heard insults since grade school seems extraordinary disingenuous.

This topic elicits strong emotions. It's qualitatively different than any other forum topic. Discussions about 9/11, or the Kennedy assignation, or mass shootings rely on wild speculation, but don't require that the proponents of one view create a new reality, and proclaim that all science is evil and that all scientists are liars. Flat earthers are anti intellectual, and they have the hallmarks of cultists. why would you sit idly by and watch people be misled by cretins?

Re: Researcher introduces Flat Earth theory to a room full of globe believers
 Quoting: Sum Ting Wong

This reminds me of something that came to mind last night.
And I forgot about it til just now, so haven't researched it. But maybe you can save me some time?

What's the speed things have to be going to break out into outerspace without getting ripped to shreds?

I understand that the atmosphere and earth are going the same speed - the fly in a car stuff and we don't have to worry about that when launching things into our orbit.

It seems that if we're spinning at 1000 mph and space isn't moving...the rockets/probes/ships would just break apart trying to get out of orbit.

Then I thought, ok...maybe there's a bigger car. We're hurtling around the sun at 66600 mph. But how does an object set to account for only 1100 mph not get ripped apart when it's suddenly whisked into the 66600 mph winds?

And from there it has to break through the 66,600 mph and slow down to 45,000 mph to solar system speed. Again, without getting ripped apart.

Plus it has to break free of our gravity, and the moons gravity, and the sun's gravity. AND it has to stay on it's proper path to go where we want it.

HOW DO THEY DO THIS!!!????
God Bless President TRUMP! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
