nutmeg User ID: 70579162 United States 02/11/2016 12:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sinking? You've never seen a person faint? You don't get around much, do you? I've seen many people faint. Young and old. Sometimes they have such a busy schedule...no time to eat, so they keep going and down they go. I'm a retired RN and flight attendant, by the way. I've seen it many times. Some businessmen were so ill because of their busy schedule, once we landed and called the paramedics, they gave them IV's in the gate area. I was dieting last year, so I wasn't eating as much as usual. I was in a store shopping, and suddenly I felt faint....everything was going grey. They had a soft drink machine in the store, so I bought a coke. I felt much better. Best thing to do if a person feels faint is lower them to the floor gently. On the plane, I would move passengers and place the ill person across seats. One time I did have to have a young guy, about 6'3" lie on the floor. If they're conscious, give them coca cola. It works. Some businessmen were so ill because of their busy schedule, once we landed and called the paramedics, they gave them IV's in the gate area. Thanks for the rational explanation. I've only fainted once, I was in my 20s and waiting in line at the grocery store. I realized I was going to fait and warned the cashier and told her to get water. I sat down and was fine 10 minutes later. I probably forgot to eat, ambition can do that to a person, you forget your human and have to have fuel. |

Is an excellent sleeping pattern for long range bombers. Only need to sleep 30 minutes at 6 different intervals per day. But if you miss one 30 minute down time, your body crashes HARD. Like not having sleep for days come on suddenly. Can't say this is thee case, but being airforce, it wouldn't surprise me. |

No one has ever seen people who fainted? Sometimes people are too exhausted from work and responsibility. Like this fool of spokeswoman , what idiotic behavior. I hope she will immediately be fired and that the general is now better. |

I'm 6.2 and blackout occasionally, walking around then bang, I'm perched against a wall or on my ass. Like when you get put in a sleeper hold. Could have been any number of things . |

I edited my post and added this because I thought it was important: I was dieting last year, so I wasn't eating as much as usual. I was in a store shopping, and suddenly I felt faint....everything was going grey. They had a soft drink machine in the store, so I bought a coke. I drank it immediately (before even paying) and felt much better. Best thing to do if a person feels faint is lower them to the floor gently. On the plane, I would move passengers and place the ill person across seats. One time I did have to have a young guy, about 6'3" lie on the floor because he wasn't near his seat. If they're conscious, give them coca cola....no ice. It really works. PS...You want to get their head down by lying down or at least stooping down. Head below the heart if possible. |
