Very interesting.. Part of me wonders if they could create a false asteroid and have it 'accidentally' hit a convenient location.
Like, ohhh... Chicago.. Maybe a few thousand file cabinets of Fed records..
Just saying.

BPEarthwatch couldn't add 2 + 2 if his life depended on it. 2013 TX68's orbit is not well established, we only have 10 days of data from 2013, that's it. Even according to NASA JPL's data, the close approach date has a time uncertainty of just over 2 days! So why would it be unusual for different agencies running different algorithms to determine the orbit to have different dates of close approach with slightly different nominal orbits? According to my own calculations from the astrometric data, the nominal orbit I came up with has a close approach time of late on March 5th, 2016 at a distance from earth's center of about 710,990 km.

So, three different sources now and three different close approach dates. That's all because of the uncertainty of the orbit. According to ESA, the confidence region for where the asteroid could be is 4.45 million km long (but only 55 km wide) at the time of close approach.

Between NASA's solution for the orbit and my solution, the best chance to recover it based on the orbit appears to be on March 5th. According to my calculations as well as NASA we should nearly be looking down the axis of the confidence region on March 5th, minimizing the amount of sky that you would need to search to find the asteroid (basically this is the point in time where the coordinates predicted for the asteroid from ESA, NASA, and my own calculations converge despite large differences in the predicted distance). The window of opportunity to find it is very short though, after that the region of the sky where the asteroid could be spreads out again to be many degrees long and impossible to find except by luck or massive comprehensive systematic searching.

Also, if the asteroid is as far from earth as NASA's nominal orbit predicts it would be very difficult to detect even if you were pointed right at it on March 5th, only magnitude 22. If it's as close as my calculations predict it would still be extremely dim at magnitude 19 but within the grasp of high end amateur telescopes. Basically you could at best rule out a very close approach if you don't detect it on March 5th within the region of uncertainty when the region is at its smallest. Due to the very short window of time where the region of uncertainty is manageable, the region around Japan, Russia, China, etc is where it is most likely to be spotted if the task is accomplished by direct searching of the orbit.

If any GLP'ers in Japan have access to high powered telescope equipment and want to try to recover the asteroid let me know and I'll help you with the search area and timing.

Asteroid 2013 TX68 is Heading towards the Earth on Saturday march 5, 2016 and it is only a Small Asteroid and it will pass earth 11,000 Miles Away from the Planet Earth and the Asteroid will Not Hit the Earth at all and Right Now Asteroid 2013 TX68 is Floating up in Space Right Now and it is Headed Towards the Earth on March 5, 2016 and Make Sure to Have your Telescopes Ready to Look up the Asteroid up in the Sky and the Asteroid will Cause Brightness in the Nighttime if the Sky is Clear and People on Planet Earth Be Prepared for the Asteroid 2013 TX68 for March 5, 2016 and it will Completely By Pass the Earth and look up in the Sky with your Telescope to Find an Asteroid 2013 TX68.
