When he ran against the Establishment Neocon David Dewhurst, no one thought he could win because he ran on the Ron Paul tea party platform. Even the Bush's backed David Dewhurst, but Cruz won. So I watched him govern and vote, and he has voted that Tea Party platform in the Senate without fail for four years now. He's a man of ideology, and you can pretty well tell what he's going to say and think about an issue because he is so firm in his ideology. I like that. The People of Texas love the guy, as evidenced by the 17% margin he won by here, and we're the people that know him best... We all know how he feels, but in this world you have to get elected first and hes not doing it as an independent. I hope people have been following what the republican party has been doing to him. In 4 years if nothing changes I'll be the first to admit it and admit we are truly fucked. But right now hes our best shot. |
