Anonymous Coward User ID: 58202357 Canada 03/11/2016 06:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I support TEPCO. They have always been efficient servants of Japanese nation by proving power to a resource poor, power hungry society. They have a very good safety record. They processed correctly during the accident given the very difficult circumstances. They are acting correctly and efficiently now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50074510 Bullshit. They could have scrubbed the reactors, flooded them with sea water pre-meltdown. The fact it was able to melt down at all means it was unsafe to begin with. Safety records are only as good as your worst accident. |

grumpier User ID: 15827244 Netherlands 03/11/2016 07:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It simply is a sad story. Started with bad design on a poor choice of location. Followed by a disaster. Followed by a lot of bad decisions based on greed and the fear for "the loss of face". As a result a lot of radioactive stuff all over the place and a fucked up Pacific ocean. Big fail to all the doom tards that said Fukushima was an extinction level event when it happened. 5 years and not even one death. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63882214 It's barely getting started, moran. Even if you manage to live a long full life, it will still be accumulating after you die. Oceans of awareness User ID: 71645817 Australia 03/11/2016 08:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Has anything been fixed? no Quoting: Citizenperth Have they come up with any robots or decontamination devices in 5 years? no Has the radiation decreased? no Are people still living there? yes Have they come up with a definable "clean up plan"? no The news today has already started with these sad facts as their headline..... 80% of radiation went into the Pacific Ocean..... Today my thoughts are with the children, born and unborn that are stuck there, living there and growing up there.... 5 years ago today, the planet experienced an event many had foretold although the doomers weren't sure how the blow was going to come it was going to happen!, a possible E.L.E (Extinction Level Event) for the entire planet as Oppenheimer once so eloquently put it "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds". To me I believe this quote to ring true and is what the nuclear industry represents, due to the toxic nature killing waste that CANNOT be ever stored on this planet anywhere, as where ever this nuclear shit is sent or dumped the environment around the site becomes unlivable for all life forever, mutating that which it doesn't kill, the most vile and unnatural "power" that has ever existed in the history of everything known and unknown. I write this to acknowledge the enormity of this event, it was the day the earth was shifted 3 degrees, a pole shift of sorts occurred and the first ever total nuclear power plant meltdown possibly melt downs.......It was a sign given to humanity that we must shut them all down get rid of the waste somehow....off planet would be best.....and heal the damage that has been here because of the finality it can be for all of us living here, all of nature is threatened because of this shit and she is damaged beyond repair in some places. Attention must be paid and that is what I am doing by writing this message in this moment and then again by sending it out far and wide which has now landed on you. 5 years with no hope to recover some if not the entire ocean, the whole thing....R.I.P to the great many species exiting the circle of life, many have gone extinct already and many more are going to follow. Will we be going too? Questions to ponder and answers to seek , we're all being tested both the strong and the weak. I have made peace with myself and I am grateful for this physical body that may very well be left behind as it is but a cover a protective cocoon wrapped around our totality. Peace, love and light guys put it out there, I definitely am. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63882214 United States 03/11/2016 08:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | never forget the stupidity of humans building plants on fault lines Japan should have moved the fault lines somewhere else before building the nuclear plants that are an absolute must-have to their resource poor, power hungry society. Yes!!!! All they had to do was rezone the fault lines. One quick vote in Japanese government and a little paperwork and the problem would have been avoided. |

BunBun User ID: 70719364 United States 03/11/2016 09:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 5 years ago, I got up in the morning and laid down on my couch. I had the news on about Fuku and I fell asleep. I had a dream that I was trapped in a house with water all around rising. I called out to the Lord and told Him what was happening. He asked me if I was awake. I said, of course. He said, Are you sure? The Lord. How I miss His Kindness. I wish I hadn't screwed it up. I am so sorry, Father. Christard and Lover of God |
