The vast majority of GLP'ers are NOT Roman Catholic. They follow extreme denominations like Southern Baptism. Most live down south or in rural regions that are far more traditional. Nothing wrong with that.
Roman Catholics are relatively liberal-minded in terms of acceptance and the likes.

Those are all things that C Cs oppose.

First, anyone who claims to be a Christian and behaves like this is a) a horrible Christian or b) pretending to be A christian in order to mask their evil agenda, or c) a newb not knowing any better.

Second, Christianity is not an organized religion. It is a gathering of normal people learning the ways of Jesus through scripture. They gather to learn in order to be the best person they can be. These gatherings can be anywhere. In the woods around a fire, in your home, in a rented space. Christians do not have ivory tower churches. They are religions.

Some Ivory tower churches are evil. Some are pretty good with good people trying hard. Catholics for example. They don't feel comfortable being open in smaller groups so they avoid Christians and come and go alone within the Catholic environment. They try, but rarely learn any scripture.

I personally rate Christians at three levels. Newcomer, intermediate, elder.

To reach elder takes some people 25+ years. Most people, 40+. To really get the "Jesus way" you need to be a very mature adult. Past drugs, whoring around, drinking. You need to be a peace with everyone, unless they are trying to harm the unsuspecting.

Mainstream Christians embrace conformity and submission to authority.
Independent thought is essentially outlawed.
Modern liberals and feminists, same thing.
An observant Christian with libertarian viewpoints are rebels and embrace rebellion when it is needed most.
Christianity in itself isn't a bad concept at all. It's the mainstream denominations that ruin its image among free thinkers.
