I have to put everything on hold to hold a phone up to my ear and even when the conversation dies have to find a way to keep it going, etc. Sometimes it's just easier to text. That's all i'm saying. I'm not used to small talk at all and it's awkward sometimes. |

It's something I am willing to tolerate, but it's just that we are exhausting every topic over the phone and then when I actually see her in person there is not much to say because it's already been said in hours of phone calls. |

Well I don't feel the need to small talk and chit chat about every single topic under the sun for hours in phone calls. That's just not the way I am. I prefer to do that sort of thing in person. I don't know any other men who sit on the phone for 1-2 hours chatting to their girl every day at least 3 times a day. Do you? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72141365 South Africa 05/08/2016 08:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't get me wrong I don't mind communicating via a phone call instead of text as writing out long text messages is annoying. However this woman will call for every small thing, at least 3 times a day and the phone calls last hours while she goes on and on about everything. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72156645 For instance I will ask her does she want to do something tomorrow and instead of replying with a simple 'yea we'll sort it out tomorrow' I'll get a phone call with her answer as well as an hours worth of chit chatter about nothing in particular. Anyone else ever dealt with a woman who calls you multiple times for hours and doesn't text? I'm used to texting women. I do like phone calls but i can't deal with holding a phone to my ear for over an hour of female-like chit chat. Your issue is not constantly talking to her but rather how you handle the awkwardness when you have nothing to say to each other. Relationships are built on idle chit-chat, you don't have to talk to each other every 5 seconds in order for it to work. If there is a mutual happiness between you two, if she does her thing and you yours without issue you are fine. When you do, do something together enjoy it, as well as the quiet times. |

Or "go on" then walk off again. It's a win-win because you don't have to listen to her blather and she feels she is bonding. |

It will never end. Maybe she doesn't have a text friendly phone- or has an old one with 3 letters on each button. Most women are text crazy- or maybe she can't spell. Tell her you CARE 24/7 but have other responsibilities. Better to get over it sooner than later. Does she have a job? A life? Better get one to be with someone that does! |

YOU need to be firm with not having extended conversations if you don't feel like it. Just say something like, "I'd love to talk but I'm in the middle of something, I'll talk to you later, or you can text me." It is perfectly polite and reasonable. See how she reacts after you doing that a few times. The Orignal. Please don't request stalking. I'm just not that into you. |
