That matters a lot. The 40 somethings don't have a sturdy foundation from childhood, even if they seemed generally healthy all of their lives. In other words the poor nutrition of their childhood is catching up to them in middle age. A poor foundation. Finally some sense. You will notice that many diaspora Indians and Asians enjoying long lives in the US, and it's no coincidence that they both eat mostly traditional foods, and little to no American processed meals. That's right now....who knows what the future holds. |

However, the diet part sounds as if it is hereditary. Some people can eat a lot of fat and junk food and live to be 90 just like some people can be winos on skid row and live to be 90. Others collect fat in their coronary arteries...and many people don't have insurance because even with Obamacare, it's too expensive for them. They may have illnesses they aren't aware of and then poof! they are gone. Quoting: Isaiah 43:1-2 These are very difficult times and unhealthy food is cheaper than healthy food. But being lied to about a value system that awards people who are honest, work hard, and play by the rules is really unfortunate. People who do what is right can expect to get crapped on, abused, and maligned while in this world. The modern world rewards the worst people -- vile garbage rises to the top. Thus, the need for spirituality is stronger than ever as is a need for a sturdy value system where you can wade through this sewer and treat others and yourself properly, while enjoying those beautiful things in this world that do exist. It's really hard. It's even harder to explain this to your kids, but it must be done -- or you'll go crazy. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 4895907 United States 06/23/2016 12:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The heart stuff could me magnesium deficiency. Two thi gs I balance magnesium. The first is processed white food or the four horsemen. The four horsemen are sugar, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. They will you all kinds of ways, including through magnesium deficiency. The second thing that unbalances magnesium is calcium. You get calcium on milk products which Americans eat a lot of, and in fortified foods. Everyone worries about osteoporosis and bone density so calcium is put in everything from cereal to orange juice. If you crave bigger things lime chocolate, coffee, or cigarettes it could be a sign that you need magnesium. Muscle cramps can be a sign that you need magnesium. There is another possible cause of early heart attack. On 1998 our concerned government worried that pregnant women who can't put down the sodiepop and pick up a vegetable would give birth to retarded babies. They began doping our products with a synthetic form of folate, folic acid. The problem with that is that about a third of us have an alteration of a gene, MTHFR, and can't handle that form of folate. Our homocysteine levels rise. High homocysteine is correlated to heart attack and stroke. Another result of this folate doping is violence, rage, and psychosis, depression and all kinds of troubles. Last I heard the government was so pleased with its folate doping it was going to dope corn flour, a Hispanic staple, as well as wheat flour. If you felt worse on prenatal vitamins, or feel worse on any multi vitamin or complex it could be the folic acid. Carlson makes a B complex without it. You can get natural folate from leafy greens. You wi get magnesium and other plant nutrients as well. Whole foods are always better than tablets. An aside. The governent doesnt seem to announce when it fucks with our food. I remember years ago that the government doped everything with iodine. Wonderbreas became a source of iodine. Cereal became a source of iodine. It's possible to get too much iodine. The government associated some health conditions with too much iodine and quietly stopped supplementing. People livin in flyover country had been succeptible to thyroid disorder from iodine deficiency. They used to be careful to eat seafood or use iodized salt. Then the wondrous government iodized us up the wazoo. We forgot about iodine completely. THEN they quietly stopped. Guess what happened? We all got fatter. And depressed. And other signs of hypothyroidism. Now people achieve miraculous cures with iodine. Great. But they wasnt it better to just attend to our own diets eating our own traditional foods? They may be trying to make us sick. I was on hospital in a rich state. Dietician caught that my albumin was low and asked of I was eating enough protein. I had not been. Third world doc scoffed when o asked of that I fluenced my condition telling me Americans eat too much protein. The rest of the world eats far less. It is true that we eat more protein than others. It is also true that we have been taller and stronger and more innovative and productive than others. It is true that the children of tiny immigrants who grow up on a traditional American diet tower over their parents and grow as tall as any of us. It is ALSO true that Germans with their cheese and sausage breakfasts carry the EU while Greece with its "healthy mediterrean diet"... well, you know. I thought all these things and I thought OMG he is not practicing medicine but politics. He is less interested in my health and well being than he is is some sort of global food equality. It is is no coincidence that Americans have been tall and strong beefeaters and that we have the best universities and the strongest economy. Look at who comes next and look at their diet. Africans might live on pounded yams, and there you go. The Africans who have the 300k tech jobs on America are also tall and strong and probably grew up on imported meat and eggs. I thought these things saying nothing and the doc suddenly looked ashamed of himself. I know life is unfair and the world can't feed everyone a diet high on animal protein, but we could if there were fewer people. He himself, beomg tall and nice built, had probably been fed well. I didnt see why he was directing his hate at me. He did look ashamed. All I could think was of first world problems offend you go back where you came from and help your own people. As it turns out, improving my diet with animal protein improved my condition. Food is life, people. Hindus say food is God. |
