I quit my job. I have purchased a sewing machine. I'm not sure that I'm smart enough to run it and make anything worth selling.

Start painting; either regular base painting, or if you are skilled you can do faux finishes or murals. I make a decent amount doing this. I get paid on a daily basis pretty much, mostly cash. Very low overhead and low start up.

I am also going to make a few T-shirt designs for the small suburban town I grew up in, and where I still have a part time job in. I'm making 2-3 "hometown" T-shirt designs with the town's name on it. I overhead an old retired guy say one day that he "Just loves anything with "town name" on it." (I omitted the town name, just in case.)

I want them ready in time for the Holidays, and figure I can make a few extra Thou$and with this idea.

I found a website where I can buy and have the design printed for $5-6 a shirt.



I just need the initial amount to buy a batch of about 100 shirts to start. Maybe even more. Once the designs are finished at the end of this month, I'm going to bring them to the local businesses and see if any are interested in selling them, and maybe I can get a deposit of some sort...

I also plan on selling most of them myself, through the town's facebook page, etc.

Unless he has a FFL, your suggestion will land him in the federal penitentiary.
