"Catastrophic outage due to perfect storm" Having worked for the local electrical supply grid in the south of the UK many years ago, even back then they were able to closely monitor faults and outages in the electrical grid. They knew what was going on, it was just not so easy getting it all back up. These systems were never designed to be switched off and more particularly switched back on again. Like with all the interruptions to air travel and road networks, TPTB are very happy to let the little people get used to managing without services they took for granted. |

A storm took out 1 or more power transmission towers a few hundred km's north of Adelaide breaking the transmission network. This in turn tripped the system throughout the state. No different to the entire US electricity grid going down if you take out the right 3 transmission towers. YES it will and the terrorists know which ones, look it up. The weather was very localised and severe, something not common in South Australia. |
