Just had 5 or 6 kc135? Transport planes fly over my house. | |

I grew up near Beale AFB in northern California and never have I seen them fly like this. I am in southwest Missouri, they were headed east. I have been here two years and this is a first. They were the four prop military transports. All my neighbors were outside looking too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48618398 KC135 is an aerial refueling tanker, NOT a transport, dumbass. . |

Thus the question mark after the 135 in the title. I was not sure. Btw wiki says air refueling and transport for the kc135. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72052582 United States 10/05/2016 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Possibly practicing. The AF does that now and then. A few years back was camping down in a river gorge in the eastern US and in the middle of the night woke up to a very very loud jet just overhead. By overhead I mean 100' overhead!! ONLY about 120' above the small river. Middle of the night with no moon!! Dark as shit. C-17 The gorge was only about 400 feet deep and he was in a very very NARROW winding valley that was only about 4-5 wing lengths wide in most of the gorge ... Heard him make several turns and then pour on the kerosene so he could pull the plane up and over the Interstate bridge about 4 miles up the valley, bet he only cleared it by 100' or so since as soon as he had his altitude he pulled WAY back on the throttles and probably descended back down into the valley again. Obviously he was practicing doing a midnight run down a very narrow winding valley WAY BELOW the side hills for some reason. Can't believe he didn't run that big transport into the side of the narrow winding valley. For me on the ground it was dam scary looking up at his belly just above the tree tops as he started his next STEEP turn with no more than 100' of altitude !! (the tallest trees were about 75' high and he was almost clipping their tops) |
