I think I'm gonna steer away from Samsung just for teasing me with an awesome fatally flawed phone. The thought of giving Google money makes me cringe. Been leaning towards another Moto droid and throwing a life case on it, but the Sony model above looks pretty good too. If all else fails there's always the new idiot phone 7 I guess ... I have a Samsung handgrenade ... 2 of them actually as Verizon ran out of fireproof boxes and the USPS refuses to take the damn things without the safeguards. Quoting: The Deplorable Jarhead I need a good water repellent model, preferably not an apple product, to replace my survival fire starter. Thoughts, comments and experiences appreciated. Hold on to those Samsung Handgrenades! As people turn theirs in, yours will be going up in price. Keep them boxed, dude. They'll be collector's items soon. |

This is pure and simple blackmail so I am not upset to see that they are getting a slapping but i think this slapping is more to do with paying taxes and little to do with the odd phone going up in flames. Trinnity you need to update your Tor exit node list because i'm on Tor and you didn't block me. |

Agreed - you can't connect your Samsung TV to the internet. 3rd party Kodi box is safer for streaming. |

Yes me has played with Kodi but most of what i watch comes from a "Dream Box" that costs about $50 a year in fees but it's better than paying SkyTV $600 a year and watching 16 adverts in a row 4 times an hour but at $50 you about get what you pay for. Anonymous Coward User ID: 13430618 Australia 10/13/2016 01:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The notes were catching fire while charging not while against your head or in your pocket like the past iPhones have done. Iphone 7's are also catching fire, there was a news article about it recently but Apple is great at shutting out the media and blaming the user while Samsung does the right thing and recalls because 30 something out of the millions sold had charge issues. The new rumors have not been proven yet and i suspect Apple may be behind the second batch of rumors to keep the Note 7 buyers from waiting and just buying a iPhone 7 instead. The Note 7 is still the best smartphone on the market, its a pity this happened because its a pretty awesome phone, nothing really compares right now. Im going to wait to see what the outcome is and use my old phone in the meantime. I hope they dont take it off the market because its an awesome phone. |

This was engineered to happen, and it's hilarious, but, I hope nobody has been seriously hurt or killed, have they? What about property damages and loss of health/life? Weren't people badly burned? Is SS going to pay up for that? Quoting: BirdLover No one was burned, just some table tops as the issue was while charging, lithium ion battery are not all that safe and if the chip that "tells" them its charged fails the battery over charges and catches fire. This happens with cameras, laptops, ecigs and many other items with lithium ion batteries. |
