In the past it was just a FCC regulation and the stations were self regulated. The Dems want to make it LAW that would include govt monitors deciding what is balanced. Also, during the time the regulations were enforced, there was no politics being talked about on the radio. There werent any political talk shows.

Now imagine you own a radio station. You have a conservative talk show that is on for 2 hours and generates advertising dollars. You now must put on a liberal talk show that doesnt generate a dime. What happens if no one tunes in to listen? You end up doing what happened before and not have any talk shows. NONE.

Is that really OK with you?

CBS, ABC and NBC along with the Times are as left wing liberal as you can get but the Dems backing this bill say they dont need monitoring as they are OK. This is primarily directed to conservative Radio because the Libs havent been able to get a presence. They have said that FOX will be targeted as well.
