I just spoke to my sister for probably the last time.

I had a cab ride in California the other day, the driver was female. We chatted the entire time. As she's about to drop me off she asks me who I'm voting for. I usually avoid the topic, but I say Trump, and she's like ME TOO!!! And she went on and on about why... It was pretty great.

But yes it's friggin impossible to reason with liberals.

I'm in the same situation with my daughter. She is voting purely based on emotion. You can't reason with her. She's completely bought into the Democratic narrative about Trump and women and that he's a disgusting pig. Nothing else matters to her. I've tried to enlighten her and get her to see the light, to no avail. She's blind to the truth. It has really strained our relationship - sad.

The sad reality is you are probably not the only one. This election has changed society.

I told her that she was morally responsible for her vote. How can she vote for a pervert and a criminal over someone that speaks the plain, unvarnished truth? I can't understand that. And my other sister is the same way. They're the only family I have left except for a couple of distant cousins.

She wanted me to come up next week and help sort through some of my mother's things and I told her that I wouldn't be able to after the election because I just won't be up to it. If trump wins, I'll call her in a month or so. If Hillary wins, I won't be answering the phone if she calls.

To the other guy whose daughter was voting Clinton, I don't think I could cut off my child, but it would be hard.

I was at work today and heard that one of our clients is no longer speaking to her son because he is voting for Trump and she is a big time Hillary supporter.

And look on the bright side. There are structural problems three or four decades in the making that are going to come to a head in the next couple of years. I'm not sure anyone would be able to effectively handle them. They are too big, but you know the public will hold the president at the time responsible. That's my silver lining if Hillary is elected. If she gets one, her term will be a historic failure.

Let me tell you all something. I cut my brother off during the 2008 elections because he is a huge liberal. He called me a racist, so I told him I was leaving because I had to pick up my white sheets from the cleaners as I had a cross burning to attend. (That was sarcasm and I am a great big smart ass)

He is now a huge Hildebeat supporter.

But he is my brother and the only family besides my daughter. I don't know what I would do without him.

Take a breather,and don't discuss politics with family. EVER. They are your parents, siblings and children. Family and time are precious. Don't throw that away because of politics or elections, they will be there for you and the lousy politicians could care less about you as a person, and won't do jack shit for you.
