I was wondering......if a State is close they could coerce, threaten, bribe the electoral delegate right? If Trump wins a state in a landslide, there's no way they could swing it right?

Yep, i have feeling she will win the popular election tomorrow but electors in states where permitted will cast for trump.

All of these leaks were for the benifit of electors making their choice, not the irrelevant populous.

The electors we vote for tomorrow then vote for the president at the electoral collage convention on december 19th.

Doesn't matter if the State is close or not. Only the electoral votes count.

That said, if someone doesn't vote the election results, they would likely never have peace in their life again. Literally, vote different and you may as well put a gun in your mouth.

This is how it works:


Tomorrow, November 8, you won't be voting for president, but for electors pledged to a party's candidates for president and vice president. The relationship between electors and their party's national committee is a private one. In the event something happens, the party's national committee can change the nominees by sending registered letters to their electors informing them of the change. This can be done all the way to December 19, the day that the Electoral College votes in its respective state capitals.

It doesn't matter what it says on a ballot line because you are still voting for electors pledged to a party's candidates for president and vice president. Therefore, if Hillary were to leave the race and be replaced by the DNC, the following would happen. First, electors in the 50 states and DC would get their registered notification letters. Second, in those states where the ballot deadlines were still open, the DNC would file to change the ballot lines. Third, in those states where the ballot deadlines had closed, the DNC's radio and TV ads would say, "Vote for the Clinton/Kaine ballot line so that your vote can really be for the Biden/Kaine ticket."

Note that we have some precedent. In 1872, the Democratic presidential nominee died right after the election. The DNC notified its electors by mail that there had been a change of ticket, and Democratic electors voted for the new ticket in December. It was just a formality because Grant and the Republicans had won in a landslide.

I was reading earlier some electoral college voters refuse to give their vote to a particular candidate. Could get interesting.... they may deny trump the presidency even if he wins enough states to have ordinarily secured the 270+.

It actually buys us time to present our delegates with increasing amounts of evidence against another Clinton Administration.

Keep in mind that most delegates are like us...state level peeps who are all, "WTF is a "spirit dinner...oh, God, just no." And, "What did she just say about Catholics/poor people/hispanics/all humans? WTH is wrong with her? Did she really pay for her daughter's wedding out of a non-profit fund?

The Electoral College is 'supposed' to vote in accordance with the peoples vote, but they don't have to.

Well, it's more of a popular mandate.

Also the time between tomorrow and Dec 19 gives a lot of opportunity for more Hillary crimes to come to light, and a lot of electors to pledge not to vote for the Lizard Demon Queen.

For anyone irked about the time frame for the electoral college to meet and vote, realize when are system was formed the electors would have to travel by horseback, coach if they were lucky. It would take a month to get from Georgia to DC <previously NY>

There is a provision for "Faithless Electors", not sure what the penalties are, probably have to caddy for Obama or let Biden give your daughters neck rubs or something.

I voted to shut down USA after a certain amount of events. They shut themselves down with their shoddy practices.
