People can't read there, they said, and might get the wrong idea, so they didn't even let them vote on it. Yeehaw, OK. Glad I left. I'm going to smoke one on my front porch where everyone can see me and not go to jail. I'm in a freer state. |

No, what you're saying, essentially, is that you haven't quite figured out yet that individual liberty should be a conservative view. But somehow conservatives have been brainwashed into being on the wrong side of this issue. It's a plant, it grows in the ground, God made it, and it's good for so much in terms of healing, not just "getting high." Please get educated and stop supporting prohibition and all the oppression that it represents. If you're a true conservative, you would support telling the government to back off and stop throwing people in prison and ruining their lives over a simple herb. |

He's repeatedly tried to stamp out the will of the people on this issue by blocking medical dispensaries throughout the state. He needs to go, and it's always been concerning to me that he aligned himself with Trump. But I trust Trump to do the right thing. I really hope he does do the right thing on behalf of all of us medical patients who need legal access to this plant for our health and well-being. Stop punishing us because of some stupid stereotype and biased propaganda from 100 years ago. |

Yeah Libertarian viewpoints have some things figured out as far as balance from both parties (but I think they tend to slant more conservative about many things). |

If you're a true conservative, you would support telling the government to back off and stop throwing people in prison and ruining their lives over a simple herb. I grew up in California - in the 70's, where taking a bong hit was considered nothing more than having a beer. I was pretty liberal most of my young adult life - I had the attitude that if someone wanted to get high or use drugs it was nobody's business, and if they wanted to ruin their life that was their choice - until I met my wife and was introduced to her family who did foster care for the state. And then I saw kids who were born tox positive for drugs, kids with fetal alcohol syndrome, kids who were removed from homes because their parents were druggies and I saw the social cost of such behavior. Thousands and thousand of child victims through no fault of their own paying the price for their parents using drugs. And that was just one county in California. Multiply that by all the counties in California and then across the nation and the cost is almost unfathomable. Billions of dollars to taxpayers because someone would rather get high, than be responsible for their kids and consider another human being as being more important. I realize you may think that is the extreme side, but how are you going to feel when someone in a position of public trust kills someone and a drug test reveals they have marijuana in their system that may have influenced their judgement? A truck driver, a nurse or a doctor, a taxi driver, or a private citizen who crashes into a family member and kills a loved one? Are you going to think it's no big deal to have a little toke after work then? I support marijuana for medicinal purposes, like glaucoma, but not for casual recreation use - there are too many scenarios where that can go wrong - to me social responsibility and safety as a whole takes priority.
