Getting Ready to Rumble - Walmart Changes Black Friday Schedule

Kind of strange doing this this year after the election and with all the tension rippling through the country.

Everyone remembers the Black Friday fights, people getting crushed and trampled, etc, etc..

A few years ago, Walmart tried to avoid that from happening, by 'spreading' the Black Friday sales throughout different times and hours of the week......clothing might be put out and go on sale Wednesday, toys on Thursday, electronics on Friday...Some shit when they open, some more shit at 4 pm, etc.

Well, NOT this year!

BOOM...everything on sale at 6pm Thursday....You want to get kids' clothes AND a bluray player? Good luck!....and wear a cup.:jay:

Since I started working at Walmart this past April, this will be the FIRST Black Friday I have ever left my house for (work 10:30am to 6pm). Thankfully, I work in the fitting room/apparel ... so it won't be "as bad" as the other departments. But still, I could use all your prayers I can get! I also live in a small town/county, but people come from slightly bigger towns nearby thinking our store will be easy going to shop ... they never learn.

Just go on the internet and shop on cyber Monday.

Also check online for the same sales on black Friday.

What fun is that?

...You haven't TRULY shopped until you've tripped three people, hurdled five people on the floor searching through spilled blu-rays, and body-checked someone else to get to those discount USB sticks.

I live in a small hick town.

5 years ago, I got elbowed in the face while trying to get a new printer and had to get on the floor and crawl through about 15 women fighting over dvds to get to the checkout.

We're prob gonna see quite a few videos out of the big cities this year.

Even the phrase "Black Friday" sounds shitty.

It used to be known mainly as "Day After Thanksgiving Sale." What happened to that?
