In 1963, a Turkish man uncovered an underground city after knocking down a wall in his home. The ancient city, called Derinkuyu in the region of Cappadocia, is 18 storeys deep and housed 20,000 people. Kitchens, stables, churches, tombs, communal rooms and schools were all part of the hidden community Lots of photos at link. One of the things that is most interesting is that Derinkuyu and Kaymakli are connected by a tunnel. They are five miles apart and the section of the tunnel I saw, you drive a jeep through. |

What do you suppose happened to the world's cities when it happened?!?! Earth, water combined would've buried most cities then- So liberal(scientists) come out and say we're cavemen came from caves and slime?!?! Bwhahaa, ever stop to think that maybe people dug their way out if they 'sheltered in place' for 40days and nights lol.... Now i am willing to bet there's metal deposits all throughout- much of what was built before was buried then dug up by corps now..hmmmm - also wondering if you mix some metals w/mud and water if they turn to stone over time?!?! Think people! |

Since you have been there, does it look as though they simply capitalized on existing caves, or was it dug out? Or lasered out? I mean, what an insane amount of work to pick one's way through that! Thanks, OP! This is intriguing to me! No doubt that some of it was existing, but the rock there is fairly soft and porous (as far as rock goes). Not lasered, just a lot of hard work over centuries. The defensive system allowed one man to hold off hundreds of attackers. There were wells and air shafts to service the cities. Just an amazing thing to explore. |

I am going to research this, it is just very interesting! There are supposedly some underground cities not that far from us, but the reports aren't solid on them and nothing is documented enough to go on an adventure. It's a lot like the Pyramids of Giza to me. The amount of labor itself is amazing. galvanic User ID: 70604734 United States 12/14/2016 12:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The underground cities were built during the Byzantine era by Christians seeking to survive the Moslem invaders and the Ottoman Empire. The underground churches have walls covered with Christian frescoes - all with their eyes gouged out once the Moslems discovered them (no human eyes can be depicted in Islam). I've been there and seen them for myself. galvanic |
