Agreed. The IRS pays out BILLIONS erroneously each year for the Earned Income Credit alone. This isn't going to stop all, or even most of that, but it's a start.

They threaten this every year about this time

I personally knew and had to kick out a meth addict woman who was supplying her addiction with tax credit

She would often loudly boast that she was living the life every time she got a check from irs

Obviously using other's hard earned and paid tax to smoke meth while her mother took care of the bastard child

The fraud that is perpetrated on the IRS is extreme!

These measures should be taken, there are people out there that are filing in the names of others and then when the real person files they realize that malfeasance is at work.

The IRS could use updated systems to be sure but I do payroll for a large company and I talked to an IRS agent years ago who told me people were filing fake refunds.

There is massive fraud against the IRS and it's not by normal taxpayers...just like those asswipes that would grab the routing and account numbers off of paychecks and rob their former employer...no checks anymore...no shit...these lazy ass mother fuckers will rob you blind and they are trying to grab your tax refund too!!!

The IRS needs to update their system but it's in your own best interest that they're looking more closely at these false filings..

The irs steals from people. So idrc, if people steal from it. If anything it goes back into the fiat keynesian economy.

I've had some assholes file two years in a row with my personal info. Even had everything in my bank account confiscated once because of it. Finally got it worked out and now they send me an identity theft pin every year. Takes forever for me to get my return.

This sucks for the hard-working Americans. I feel sad about that aspect of it.

But it will also disproportionately hurt the fucking Arabs that claim to be 25 different poor people. You know it is bad if the epidemic of Arab fraud is so bad that even the left-leaning bureaucrats at the IRS are fed up with it.

That sucks and you're not alone. The lazy ass mother fuckers that actually don't want to work for a living are getting pretty smart in this paperless society....massive fraud is not a anomaly but the norm and the IRS is getting wise to it, that is the delay. There will be a solution to it but they are slow to respond. My mother was a contract specialist (bless her soul) for the IRS and she would tell me so many stories of ineptitude. The problem isn't with the people but the policies generally, though we all like to say the IRS workers are imbeciles...they're not really, well mostly....but regardless the problem is we have a ton of assholes trying to beat the system and the system hasn't caught up to catching them!!! But they're on to them and they're catching up and eventually the red tape will be so thick that even the best lazy mother fucker won't be able to grab an honest person's refund anymore!!!!

It would make more sense to simply AUDIT the ones they suspect were committing fraud.

I see checks anywhere from 1500 upwards of 15 grand these people get .. And thus i 1 small area in minnesota.

But I bust my as 10 to 12 hours everyday and like every year they will keep my 5 or 6 hundred bucks i overpayed because of the debt reclamatuon act where they take ur to pay med bills, unwmployment. Ect.. State taxes are tge same way.
Frre ride if ur illegal though. Free health care, free dental, 6 hundred bucks free food every month, pennies on the dollar hiusing, zero to liw interest suoer long term lians, free education... Whike the true american citizen gets F'd Up The preverbial AZz, every Single Day.

If you're waiting on a big refund check you are withholding too much. (This is assuming you are a regular working stiff and not one of the aforementioned teat suckers.)

Yup. If you claim the earned income tax credit or additional child tax credit - those refunds will not be released until Feb. 15th and beyond. I've seen people my age freaking out about it. I can't help but wonder - why on earth would you rely on a tax refund to get by?

Couple years ago in Austin the local news reported that there was about 70 million dollars of refunds going to one address in Austin and the address wasn't part of a rich area of Austin either.

Basically it's illegals that are able to do and get away with this scheme. They go to their consulate and get multiple alias's for them and their children. Then they file income taxes and government welfare for each entity and collect the checks for them.

A real easy way for the IRS to catch this shit is to have multiple returns going to one address be flagged and investigated.

Yeah but this year those attempting to utilize the child credit must jump through hoops to earn it.
