I have yet to see any priest chanting christian verses in a mosque. Muslims would go apeshit if such thing happens. Talk about hypocrisy, things should work both ways.

They were trying to be friends to sinners and unbelievers. They were trying to prove their tolerance of others but in doing so they crossed the line and sinned against God.

I tolerate people's sin when I go up to them to witness the truth of the only Lord and God Jesus Christ. I do not intend to be so close to a sinner that I become influenced by their sinfulness, but I will be friendly a friend up to that point.

The bible admonishes us to cut out relationships of believers who are sinners from our lives. It suggests that it is ok to cut out toxic relationships for righteousness' sake.

These fellow Christians tried to prove something and brought a devil into the house of God and allowed it to profane and mock God and his house.
