Rome's Challenge To Protestants

"Is not yet too late for Protestants to redeem themselves. Will they do it?... will they indeed take the written word only, the Scripture alone, as their sole authority and their sole standard? Or will they still hold the indefensible, self contradictory, and suicidal doctrine and practice of following the authority of the Catholic church and wear the SIGN of her authority? Will they keep the Sabbath of the Lord, the seventh day, according to Scripture? Or will they keep the Sunday according to the tradition of the Catholic church, -Rome's Challenge, page 31

For the record, I am Protestant.

Exodus 20:8-11  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  9  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:  11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God's 7th Day is the Sabbath. God's Sabbath was not changed, nor is there any place within the Scriptures that show that God's Sabbath was changed. But the Bible does show that a power would try to change God's law. The prophetic book of Daniel says:

Daniel 7:25  And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

The Catholic Church is very blunt and blatant of their tradition being used to supplant the Scriptures. And now, she is trying to enforce her religious tradition upon the world. The Pharisees were zealous for their traditions, instead of the commandments of God, and Jesus rebuked them to their faces for it.

Matthew 15:3  But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Matthew 15:7-9  Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,  8  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.  9  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
