Before 2011, less than 1,000 individuals chose to expatriate each year, according to the lists published on the Federal Register. More than 2,300 expatriated in the last quarter of 2016 alone, and this year's total of 5,411 individuals is 26 percent more than last year's 4,279. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59418979 [link to www.expatinfodesk.com (secure)] actually it say's zero to infinity. you have to settle up with the irs before you are official. i didn't see any other fee involved. that said, taxes are really the only hurdle to officially leave, nothing physically stopping you from leaving though. might have the irs come after you, but everyone else couldn't care less. |
