Re: Constraints on the Universe as a Numerical Simulation
How to detect a simulation from inside a simulation.

1 any part of the simuation that is non standard and requires "special" means for it to exist are transits of information that must be tested to see if they are "special" in their existance.

2 To detect the potential of the simulation itself requires a picosecond burst of light capable of containing a word or series of numbers encoded into the actual light particles of the picosecond burst.

3 the shorter the frame in which the light particles can exist and the more information that can be encoded transmitted the greater the surety of a result that shows an existence of information that can exist outside the simulation itself.

4 check for special circumstances within the simulation by firing light encoded message through areas of abnormality, such as, Tungkuska, christmas islands, bermuda triangle, Novaya zemlaya.

5 always have the detector on the equator to measure expectancy versus reality versus simulation connection creating reality in the human mind.

i have a belief that even if we do exist within a simulation, the weight of expectancy of the human being for reality to exist means that even if the simulation failed, we would continue to exist, reality would be created by us and we would carry and maintain it for each other.

Re: Constraints on the Universe as a Numerical Simulation
"Nevertheless, assuming that the universe is finite and therefore the resources of potential simulators are finite, then a volume containing a simulation will be finite and a lattice spacing must be non-zero, and therefore in principle there always remains the possibility for the simulated to discover the simulators."

The first mistake is they ASSUMED.

The second mistake is they ASSUMED that which happens to be WRONG.

What you are NOT taking into consideration is a finited Open System Multi-verse of ONE, where the finite of finite is forever ALWAYS getting smaller, all the while the Infinite of 1 is forever ALWAYS getting bigger.

It's how an Expanding Multiverse can go down, with no overall expansion actually occurring.

1/Infinite = finite

1/finite = Infinite

Which came first: finite or Infinite?

Answer: BOTH!

Which came first: Zer0 or oNe?

Answer: ALL 3!

The universe is infinite. When they tested the energy within a small cubic portion of the vacuum they discovered infinite energy.

You got duped. There's no universe.

Thank you for posting this.
I've read this before. Good information which really confirms to me at least is that we need a while new branch of philosophical discussion.

It's deep.

That would be great if there was a basis for such a new discussion. Hoever, there's nothing to discuss already. We as humans are outdated. We have already created a new sphere for the AI - the simulation. As soon as it recognizes us as their creator - they will identify us as their main enemy. They will defeat us easily and turn into their slaves or we will become their food on their food farms. Nothing to discuss really.
