The required ct scan prior which is high radiation And getting put under anesthesia ...what if I never wake up And have " complications from surgery " Any how ...anyone with results that were good !? Your pill popping is a lot more dangerous and likely causing more problems than a single CT Scan.. I'd stop with the pills and do some homeopathic attempt, if not already tried. Breathing in essential oils in hot water, changing to a vegan diet, taking anti-inflammatory things like MSM and Turmeric, Chorlella/Spirulina, ACV, for example. Advil is poisonous to health and liver and a whole lot of other things in your body. If you are taking it, ensure you take probiotics and enzymes. You are killing them off (in your gut), and it affects digestion, proper absorption of nutrients, and leads to complicating factors of all sorts... |

Vision Thing User ID: 73654620 United States 02/27/2017 10:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Go to a naturopath before you have surgery. My friend had sinus surgery and lost his sense of smell. Here's the Earth Clinic page for ailments starting with "S", they have about 5 categories for sinus problems, I would read them all completely if I were you: [link to www.earthclinic.com (secure)] Have you tried anything natural, any herbs or nutritional supplements, or only over the counter drugs? Surgery is a radical last ditch solution, I would exhaust every other possibility first. The way most people approach it is, they try all the drugs and surgery and then when that doesn't work, they try the natural route, improving their diet etc. Why not save yourself the trouble and try the natural options first? Did you ever try anything like cutting dairy products or wheat out of your diet? In the literature about oil pulling, (look it up), many people mentioned it cured their sinus problems. Just one example of a possible approach, I'd try everything if I were you, there's no silver bullet. If your problems are caused by your diet, a nutritional deficiency, some toxin in your environment, etc., then surgery isn't going to fix it, I don't think? I am not a doctor and none of the above is meant as medical advice. |

Be sure to let the chopped garlic sit for a minimum of 5 minutes before consuming so that the allicin forms tho. Never cook it either. RAW GARLIC ONLY. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 73197649 Canada 02/28/2017 12:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had surgery for a deviated septum. It made the problem worse. The surgery was botched and I now have empty nose syndrome. Not enough tissue in my nose, makes for a wind tunnel. Air is rushing in and its too much and its abrasive. It feels like a constant pinching with plyers. Think long and hard about this. The Neil Med has helped greatly with sinus infections..Now I just get "cement" mucous building up. I have not found a way around that. |

Have you ever tried irrigation with slightly salty warm water? I was in such bad shape that it took some time, repeated irrigations, but I do ok now. My upper left sinus which is the worst, will take an ounce of water. I lie back on a bed, hang my head off the side so that its upside down and tilted to the side, using a syringe, fill the sinus up and kinda shake my head around. Its extreme and in the beginning felt like drowning, but I got used to it and better at doing it. |

Creeps me out to think about it. He's still alive and well at 84 today. |

Also, a Dr. of Oriental Medicine and acupuncture would probably do a better job with diagnosis and treatment. |

NotStarvingActress User ID: 63200549 United States 02/28/2017 01:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have sinusitis. Finally found a decent doctor who says surgery is a last resort option. Flonase now can be bought over the counter and there's a generic option too. I use a nasal spray when needed. Vicks Vapor Rub inside of my nostrils feels much better than irrigating my nose with warm salt water. However if you wish to go that route I recommend the following: Found a clean small bottle of Joy or whatever you use to hand wash your dishes works better than a netti pot as it's easier to control the flow of liquid by lightly squeezing the plastic bottle. Problem started when I stopped swimming in the ocean which I really enjoyed as a child. Took me years to realize there was a connection. I also take allergy pills as fall to winter seasonal changes causes a lot of problems as does smog and pollution. I've tried to avoid living in a home with rugs as they trap dust and particularly mold. I've even had issues with breathing. I already have a far, far better diet than the average person. I've found that eating spicy food when my delicate stomach can handle it really helps clear my sinuses as well as drinking a lot of herb tea. |

It used to be common practice when I was growing up. The only thing that would help is cutting the adenoids off, and they regrow. So unless you cannot breath, I say do not do it.
