You can use them to toast your bread. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70233449 They make a big fuss about having a lots of cores. In fact they use lots of cores because the performance of each core sucks. They hired new chip designed about 4-5 years ago and this new architecture is the result. Do your DD. This isn't your dads AMD. |

Yes fiat and all this is blasphemous but I like to eat. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73324854 No joke this stock will double in the next 12-24 months. My last winner was AAOI but whatever. AMD to the moon! You can't eat AMD stock !! No but I can sell it and take my fiat to the grocery store. You seem slow? |

If you are a long term investor you can most likely double your money in the next 12 to 24 months. Quoting: Money Man Jr aka Alpha 73324854 I bought 5000 at $12.50. Only regret is that I didn't get in earlier. Do you DD. Here are some search topics. Ryzen Naples Vega Instinct. Those are the 4 horseman money makers. Alpha out I bought in around the $3 mark... but of course I sold within a couple months after the first big jumps. AMD was way undervalued, but I'm not sure that's still the case. I never felt confident enough to jump back in... I don't regret it either. I've got a bigger fish to fry though. One that will blow AMD out of the water. Neighbor Bob |

Thanks for playing. It is much more competitive for anything other than gaming, and yes i found many articles that talk well of the Ryzen but not for gaming, which is ok... It is only a matter of time, but for now getting over 4 ghz is a problem and nothing is optimized for 16 threads but it looks very promising. Like i said before, this is good for both AMD and Intel users as it will result in lower prices and more options, but if you are claiming that Ryzen beats Intel for gaming right now... no way, not yet. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72390384 Slow and run hot... That ain't AMD's fault. Stop buying Acer shit. Actually it is AMDs fault and has nothing to do with cheap prebuilts from Best Buy or whatever. AMD chips and gpus run hot even in custom built systems benchmarked by any publication or website out there. Really shouldn't comment on things you don't know about. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 74426238 United States 03/12/2017 12:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | are their new chips their mainstream line? Intel has i7s in multiple lines. Skylake is intels mainstream line, x99 (or haswell-e) is intels high end desktop line with more PCIe lanes and other features. saying its better than an i7 isnt specific enough because intel has i7s in their mainstream line and high end desktop. what are you comparing ryzen to? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74062501 i stopped using AMD when intel came out with their 1366 Sandybridge chipset. x58, x79 and now x99. how does intel stack up against x99? i meant how does ryzen stack up against the x99 chipset and haswell-e cpus? Ryzen only has dual channel memory and only 24 pcie lanes. How much is Intel paying you to post? It's not his fault he's right, intel motherboards have supported ddr4 for almost 2 years now, AMD stuck on ddr3 up until ryzen. Better question would be how much AMD is paying you. |

AMD is the only company on the planet that makes CPU's and GPU's as well as APU's. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 58790082 United States 03/12/2017 01:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | all the benchmarks I have seen it eats dust barely keeping up with 5 year old intel tech, where do you get such info?? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73716196 It took AMD 5 years to to catchup to Intel I can buy a 6700k with a mild overclock( 4.5GH ) on air and blow this junk outta the water, good luck finding a motherboard too. Like their new line of vid cards LOL rx480 WOW $199 but alas cant even keep 1080p@60 with vsync on. I stopped building AMD when intel 2500k's came out ( 12 builds ) and all of them are heavy gaming still to this day with a 4.0 - 4.6 GHZ overclock! I don't doubt the stock will go up but its just the mainstream rush, the PC gamers and even next gen console builders may use them due to the cheapness. Good luck you might profit, the typical consumer sheep doesnt care about FPS until they visit their buddies house that has a gaming PC @ 1440p or 4k running a steady 60 fps vsync then they like woooahhhhh why is it so smooth. lol You are full of shit. This isn't about gamers. Do your DD folks. It doesn't matter. Intel chips are still lightyears better than AMD. Intel is less power hungry, less heat, and more powerful. AMD has a long way to catch up to have the same watts and performance level. Buying an AMD with rising electrical costs, you must be one dumb motherfucker. |

AMD chips and gpus run hot even in custom built systems benchmarked by any publication or website out there. Really shouldn't comment on things you don't know about. And that's my problem with AMD. This problem has existed for years and they still haven't resolved it. AMD needs to clean up its act and fix this. It's a serious issue for datacenters as more heat is more energy and more money. So you buy your chip $200 cheaper than Intel, great! But your monthly bill just shot up $200. Meanwhile, you can buy an Intel with the same performance with less wattage and a lot less heat. AMD seriously lost at the server market and if they keep it up, they'll never regain it. |
