OP, your underlying claim is of a biological virus and a daemon as functionally equivalent, whereby viruses being and operating in a more dense 3 dimensional PHYSICAL substrate, and the Concept of a Daemon operating in a higher dimensional/paranormal substrate, yet both perform the same modes-operandi - hijacking the operative machinery of the host and re-purposing for an entirely different outcome without benefit to the host.

I think that's a fascinating insight. It's a model we often see in nature, and why not extrapolate it to the spiritual realm as well?
