His title on the old clip was a visualization scientist. His job is to play on your emotions to keep the tax dollars rolling into NASA. I mean who doesn't want to visit these creative worlds? Interesting You mean, he creates artist illustrations of newly discovered exoplanets and such that NASA labels as "artist illustrations?" Because that's what it sounds like. How does that prove the worlds themselves are fake? |

What a nutjob. His voice sounds like a real asshole too. So because an artist illustrates new discoveries based on data, no images of space are real. Got it. Guess this is fake too then. Except I took it myself. But I'm part of the conspiracy, aren't I? |

The Deplorable Astromut Senior Forum Moderator 05/05/2017 01:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes. He creates illustrations based on new discoveries. You see those kinds of illustrations all the time in new exoplanet articles and the like, clearly labeled "artist illustration." If you're too dumb to see the difference between an illustration of what something might look like, and actual images of space, oh well, too bad. It does not serve as proof that images of space are fake. |

He has a job and I would say he is very proficient at the creation of perception. I don't get it. Isn't that his job? To be very proficient at creating illustrations to help you perceive what NASA discovered? The start of the video implies that it's all NASA is capable of doing, that they can't take real images of space. The video openly states it's "for those who think we can actually see into space." |

The human eye is not nearly sensitive enough to perceive that much of the galaxy even with this telescope, but a camera collecting light for hours can. Quoting: The Deplorable Astromut Except I took it myself. But I'm part of the conspiracy, aren't I? Fallacies. The slippery slope fallacy If "A" is true than it goes to "X" we take a jump too far. Wrong. I am not even at the level of NASA. The dude in the video is claiming even NASA is incapable of "seeing into space" and implies that all images of space are fake. If I can take images like that in the backyard, then clearly NASA with their resources are capable of doing so as well. I am not sure of your credibility any more than NASA's credibility. Quoting: MollyThen you're admitting it's not a fallacy at all. In fact you just confirmed my last sentence. That's rather ironic. Well my credibility is just fine and I'm not faking these images either. Anyone can go to a major national star party and see images like this as they're taken by amateurs like me. You can see the equipment, you can ask questions, and if you accuse us of faking our work without evidence, you'll probably be kicked out on your ass and rightly so. I am not a "Dude" BTW. Quoting: MollyGood. I never said you were. I was clearly referring to the dude narrating the video. What, did you think I was suggesting I hacked your mic and thought you sounded like a dude? That's not what I was suggesting. |

They are not viewing anything like your pretty pictures they are creating an imaginary place. Nothing personal. It is deceptive just like the Google "satellite" images that they confess are taken by basically photo enhanced spy airplanes. |

They are not viewing anything like your pretty pictures they are creating an imaginary place. Nothing personal. The video implies from about 25 seconds on that the video is proof that they fake everything, that they don't just create illustrations of new discoveries, that they are incapable of "seeing into space." It even directly claims that images from Hubble, for instance, are not real, they're just illustrations based on "strips of data." On the contrary, Hubble has taken countless images of space. Newly discovered planets found by methods such as light curve monitoring and doppler shift measurements are of course not visible in images but are instead illustrated by artists like the one in the video, but that is not the limit of what the video is claiming. |
