Of all the years of getting stuff from the kids the things I've kept and remeber are the funny/clever cards they made for me, not the gifts.

Go look at funny cards at the store or online to get ideas if you need. Be self depricating, not insulting. Compliment and tell them you love them.

With a PC and a printer you might be able to add designs, clipart, or your own snapshots such as a pet, a younger you, etc..., but I also suggest adding your own hand written lettering and pictures if you can.

For the older lady, take her someplace relaxing so you can chat. Coffee and dessert where it will be more about the time together than the food.

First of all, if you got to know these two women you would not need help. You would know what would make them happy.

Chocolate and flowers for the older woman. Something she can really enjoy right now.

Jewelry for the younger one, but make sure it is something in her taste. Doesn't have to be expensive. And chocolates, because she can share with the children.

I send brownies from Amazon. They come in a nice box from the Vermont bakery. This way I don't have to see them and they get delivered before Mother's day.

My parents told the family to stop getting them gifts for any occasion, all they want is for us to visit, which we all do weekly.
