They didnt, those are just the ones that survive today. Many religions lasted longer and had more followers but the Romans killed off most of them by force to create and support the catholic church.

Exactly. It was those civilizations which had a civilizing influence - Judaism, Christianity, Islam - mainly to the West; and Buddhism, mainly to the East.

The few Anunnaki "Gods" were unable to control the exploding human population after the flood (melting from the ice age). The Anunnaki provided the idea of "Religion" as a means for Humans to manage themselves. Humans have expanded the original idea by continuously inventing new variations on the theme. Also, the Anunnaki enjoy being worshiped. (My researched opinion).
